How to Finish the Sprinter Pillar-Headliner Transition

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video I show my favorite way to trim out the trouble spot above the B-pillar where the headliner ends. This only takes about an hour, costs around $100, and gives you a very professional-looking finish.

A lot of people remove that foam piece but I remember reading that it's for safety. It's not meant to direct the side curtain airbags, but rather acts as a cushion in case your head bounces around in that area in a collision. Nice to have a solution that doesn't compromise safety features, thanks!

So happy to see this video. By the grace of God, I saved those foam pieces! Now to cover them. Thanks so much

We did this in our van but we used headliner material which has a little bit of stretch to it. One of my "car guy" coworkers gave me the idea. We used the same material on the underside of our shelf and the backside of our "bulkhead" partitions. We are very pleased with the results.

Thanks for the video and part number for the foam. Do you know the part numbers for the B pillar wrap around trim pieces? Can’t find the numbers anywhere. Thanks!

How do you finish the back door pillars usually? The interior edge that goes all the way up and around and back down the rear of the van where the wires are run?

Great video!! Thank you for sharing. The MB part # in your post is for 2018 Sprinter. Do you know this part will fit 2021 Sprinter 2500?

Mercedes has changed the part number. Check with your dealer. They should be able to find the parts for you.

You didn't show how to remove and install the old and new pillar trim where the seatbelts go through

No need to remove the pillar trim. We just pop the top of the trim out, and pop it back in when finished.

Better to insulate above headliner than use those foam pieces tbh
