    Thank you. This is a great alternative to the traditional tie off method. I might also add, it would be a good way to use up leftover beads on the very last rows on either side. That way you can save those beads, esp. if you prefer their colour to others, for another project, since they’ll be covered up and glued over anyhow.

    I just created my first 2 weave bracelets. Love it much better than any stitch I've done so far. I had a very dear friend who wanted an indian style beaded necklace at that time I didn't know how to however I told her I would find out how. I learned a little too late she passed away on me a year ago and everytime I look at the next pattern I would like to try or draw up my own design I think of her and it brings a tear to my eyes, she was more like a sister I would have loved to have had. Debbie you are always with me especially when I'm weaving. Love You Lady. I feel you with me when I am running my thread to and fro. Thank you for taking your time to create this video I never would have known how to finish my work w/o you, I would have held them in my need to finish box/drawer.

    This'll be extraordinarily useful. Though while slightly unfortunate, the spaces between my warp threads and my seed beads (I usually use Size 10s and 11s) are too small, so there's usually deformation near the beginning. However, this'll definitely make my loom pieces much cleaner, even if I just want to do small badges over bracelets

    Hi Connie, sorry you're having trouble! What might be helpful is going back through the last two rows. The beads should be secured by the knots you will make with the warp threads. Also, a little dab of glue goes a long way.

    You may want to consider a thinner needle. If you are already using a size 11 needle, you could try a thinner needle, such as a size 12, 13 or 15. You can see the needles we have available in the following link: beadaholique.com/collections/jewelry-making-tools?_=pf&pf_t_product_type=0-Product-Type%3ABeading%20Needle&pf_v_brand=BeadSmith Thanks for watching.

    I have tried beading many times and I get as far as getting all the beads on the loom but the only needles i find are too fragile to do any of the finishing work. Where do you buy your needles or what kind are they? The ones I have found are super fine, quite flexible and break if you breath too hard. BTW, you do great work, I will watch all of your videos!

Any advice on a size 11 bead where to get some kind of cord like that that hopefully wont break? Thank you!!

  • @louisaentsminger3751

    @louisaentsminger3751

    Size 11 beads are pretty much the norm. Granted there are a lot of other sizes but when it come to using seed beads, size 11 is the most common. You can use stretchy cord but I don't use it bc I don't trust that it won't break. For attaching to the loom I use strong all-purpose sewing thread like dual duty plus in either tan or ivory & then .006 in or 0.15 mm beadalon wildfire thermally bonded bead weaving thread for the weaving itself. The dual duty is around $2 & the wildfire thread is about $4 both at walmart. As far as getting it to fit your hubby's hat, measure the circumference of the base of his hat & either do it exactly that length or use the leather she showed in another video to attach to each end & the strips to tie it around his hat so it's easy to get on & off of it & then he'll have some small leather tassels on it too. Anyway, hope this helps.

    Hello, your beads looks so even. The ones I bought from Michaels, some are bigger and others smaller, which make one row longer than others. Where do you buy your beads? Also I kept running out of thread when working with long hat bands. Any advice? Thank you in advance!

    Hi Leonardo, the beads we use for these loom projects are Toho 11/0 rounds, they're high quality Japanese seed beads. You can see our selection of them here on our website: beadaholique.com/collections/seed-beads?sort=created-descending&_=pf&pf_v_brand=Toho&pf_t_size=0-Size%3A11%2F0

    I have a slight problem - I have a project that I want to turn into a bracelet, but the problem I have is that the bead strip is 30 mm - and the largest slider clasps I can find are about 26 mm. Does Beadalon have any in this width, or are there any other manufacturers who would make a slider clasp in the size I need?

    Hi there! Can any of you help me please? How can I finish this bracelet without a clasp? Is there any video teaching an alternative technique? Here in Brazil we kind of strugle with good quality clasps, I thought os finishing with macrame, but honestly I don't know how to even begin. Thank you for sharing so much on your YT channel.

    Hi Isabela. The problem to solve will be how will you wear the bracelet without some kind of connector. Those long threads at the end could provide a solution if you can tie them to something or make a clasp of sorts from fabric and add that...you'll want to brainstorm a creative solution along those lines if a metal clasp is out of the question...

  • @beadaholique

    @beadaholique

    6 жыл бұрын

    Great question. Unfortunately since I have not used those two ingredients together in this technique, I can’t speak to whether or not it will work. Are you trying to loom with the friendship thread and how thick is it? My concern is that it might not go through the beads since you need to do multiple passes. If you want to send more details and maybe pictures to service@beadaholique.com, perhaps I can give you some better advice. Thanks!
