everyone addressing this issue makes the same WRONG assumption that you have a wifif connection. If I was connected I don't know why I would need the key. This is so frustrating. I want to connect an old router I haven't used in a long time. I cannot connect to it without the network key. How do I find the key without wifi for this router-an existing router that's working and connected won't give me the key for the old router

Hello sir, my laptop is broadcasting an ssid DIRECT-HLXXXXXX, i cant connect because i dont know the password, but if i turn on my laptop mobile hotspot the DIRECT-HLXXXXX ssid will disappear and my mobile hotspot ssid will broadcast, if i turn off my hotspot, DIRECT-HLXXXX ssid come to broadcast again, but i dont have a password of that ssid. Where can i find the pw?

You are talking about password. You were supposed to tell the network security key to connect, which is different. Hence didn't work.

But I don't have a "wireless properties" button. Every single one of these guides on the internet says to click on the "wireless properties" button to get the network key, but that button just doesn't appear in anything I'm looking at. I don't know what to do.

If anyone is still having problems press forget on your network and then find your network again and type in the password for it (security key)
