How to find your dream apartment in Mexico (without breaking the bank) // If you're thinking about moving to Mexico, finding a place to live in Mexico is likely at the top of your to-do list. With more and more foreigners living in Mexico, the rental markets (especially in the best cities to live in Mexico like Queretaro) are getting increasingly more competitive. In order to give yourself the best possible chance to find an apartment in Mexico in your ideal location, consider furnishing an apartment.
In addition to practical tips for furnishing an apartment in Mexico, I share other important things you need to know about renting in Mexico including how inflation affects the cost of living in Mexico. If you're thinking about retiring in Queretaro and living in Mexico on a budget, pay close attention to how much my rent has increased each year since moving to Mexico. Decide for yourself: is Mexico affordable?

Hello Alex, what I have learned after living in Mexico over a year is that LAND IS EXPENSIVE! but building a house is not as much so. Of course that depends on what type of house they want to build. Maybe you can do a video on buying land. Thanks

My boyfriend and I just move to Queretaro 3 weeks ago, from the north of Mex. After a crazy hunt and seeing almost 20 places, we were very lucky to find a furnished apartment right in the center. The landlady was very kind and gave us an excellent price the only condition was to pay the year in advance which we thought was a pretty good deal. Anyway, your videos help as well Mexicans wanting to move here. Great channel!!

Hi! I've been watching many of your videos and they have been super helpful so far. We actually just switched our eye from Guadalajara to Queretaro. If it possible to move your furniture from the US to Mexico? Do you know any moving companies that do that? We'd love some advice as my partner and I both have our own furniture and don't want to spend a lot on new furniture.

Hi Alex, right so I'm terrified of renting unfurnished😳😳😳I'm travelling with my elderly parents so their comfort comes first for me and rent works out furnished to 1200 USD for a nearly 3000 sqft house, which tbf its what I paid for a studio flat in London. But I agree with you about making a space your own so eventually I would like my own stuff. I thought about slowly buying items during my lease and then once I have the basics, rent a unfurnished house. So I will defo follow your tips. Thanks again.

There are stores that will not deliver to anything past the first floor…had this situation with a major department store in a small beach town in Mexico…no truck rental options had to go to a large town to shop and they did deliver but I had to wait 2 weeks for the next scheduled time

Hi Alex....we live in Playa del Carmen but recently visited Qro as a place to move after this. We are in love with it, so I’m starting the plan for when our lease is up. My question is a little different. We completely furnished an entire place here and now we are faced with 3 options...none of which thrill me. 1-Sell everything we can’t take on a plane and repurchase there. 2-Find movers UGH 3- sell everything and find furnished. We plan to be outside Centro (el refugio, zibata, zakia) PS we met your friends from the ladies night out video at dinner with new friends at Fishers 😊

Hi Emma, I'm not sure about a saliva test...all the tests I've gotten in Mexico are the nasal swabs. You can get a rapid antigen test that way at many of the pharmacies (in Queretaro, I went to Optomed Diagnostics). This test is sufficient for re-entering the US! You can also get one at the airport in Mexico City.
