How to find the unit system for an ABAQUS Model

Have you tried setting up an ABAQUS model but unsure what unit system you should use? This is a common issue because ABAQUS is a unit-less software. You have to decide on a unit system and input parameters based on dimensional consistency for that unit system. In this video I will show you how to work within a unit system for your ABAQUS model and illustrate this for three length scales i.e. metre, millimetre and micrometre. #cmvideos #abaqustutorial #rve #unit #abaqusunit #composites #pbcgen2d #montcarlgen #periodicboundarycondition

Thanks for this. I am not working on this at the moment but I have noted it and if I can, I will try to make the video. thanks for your comment.

Hello @Rajasekaran, thanks for the feedback. I try to keep the volume of the music so low so they do not interfer with what I am saying. I feel having some background very low-volume music does help with the content but maybe not for you in this instance. However, thanks for taking time to comment and I will take the feedback on board.

Hello Dr.Michael, I would like to know how to write code random particle in Matlab that can be imported into program Abaqus. Can you give me an example?😁😁🙏🏻

Dear Dr.Okereke, i have a question. I would like to create a polycrystalline nickel model, like a cube with irregular geometry, but in Abaqus i can't choose the material like Ansys. Is there a solution about this? I'd prefer to create this model in Inconel 718. Thx for attention, best regards

Hi, yes you are right. In Abaqus you choose material models not the material itself. You have to find the underlying material model for Inconel and look for its equivalent material model in Abaqus. This is the way to go.

@@MichaelOkereke Ok perfect Dr.Okereke. I'll take this way. 1) i'll create my irregular geometry in Abaqus (i'll use UMAT's script) 2) Import this model in Ansys 3) Choosing the material for model (Inconel 718 in Composite Materials)
