DJING for over 4 decades and never had rhythm!Always played with the music.. this video gave me rhythm.. you’re amazing!
Wish I had found you in about grade 9. Oh ya, I'm 62 and dancing for the first time in my life. Thank you so much.
I studied classical ballet, tap, and jazz from the time I was 5 years old into my early twenties and I always felt like I was inhibited from doing club dancing the way I wanted to express myself. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise of these dance moves as I now have feel like I have found a new mentor even at my young age of 63. I know I still have the beat of the music in me but, I never had anyone teach me how to count 1,2 before it was always to the count of 8. I can't wait to start moving and following along, yes even at my age! Ginger Hampton.
I literally have to thank you 😭 24 years and I never understood what people meant by me having no rhythm but as I got older I started to see it and so many people tried teaching me rhythm for some reason after countless videos I understood you so thank you so much it was a hindrance to going out but I feel like after some practice I will learn to dance so thank you again 😌

@@GetDance Oh yes!!! This video is so useful. And do please make the other you suggested with the Top 40 songs. ❤ One challenge of mine is keeping my attention on the rhythm and trying to transition into another move as I try not to think about it too much and not losing the beat but not getting stuck on the same move. I know it will get easier with more practice. So that's why I like how you keep things simple for a beginner like me. Thanks again!!! 😊

Me to I need it
Once you hear the beat, how do you react fast enough to move to it? It seems like you would need almost instantaneous reflexes. Do your reflexes simply improve with practice, or is there more of a trick to it?
@GetDance
2 жыл бұрын
you can predict where the beat will be because the snare happens at equal pace - always when it's supposed ot. When you know the beat is coming up, theb body is prepared to move ahead of time. We practice that in my online program, rhythm is actually the first thing we fix: www.getdanceonline.com/ 😊

You switch from intellect to feeling. People think you need to be born with it. I'm living proof that it is a learned trait. It just takes practice.

Why? Once you got the beat down and go to a party, you will see just how many people can't find it and desperately should be looking up videos like this too. You're just ahead of the game.
Claps and thumb snaps are not snares. A snare is a type of drum. All are commonly struck on the upbeat, but not all are snares.
Rhythm is not heard, it is felt. If you can't feel it, you can't move to it.
