    Can you leave the bucket outside the pool and do the same test? Wait 2-3 days and then measure the drop in the pool and the bucket to compare? Use a piece of tape on the bucket to mark where the water started.

    I assume that would still get you the results. The point of putting it in the water is to keep the bucket water temp similar. But if your bucket drops faster than the pool due to evaporation then your pool is likely good as far as no leak. Give it a try

    @@BtwilliasGarage ok. Thanks. I didn’t realize temps played a role in the evaporation process. I’m in the south and my pool heater is off now. Should maintain the same or close temps. Im concerned because my pool drops 1/4-1/2” everyday

    @@ohboy2592 these cold mornings and warmer days have mine losing around 1/4 as well. The Bucket Test is definitely good for peace of mind with it
