Cheers man! Sometimes I go into the surfshop by my work and check the fins on their boards. It's very interesting to look at big name brands with this tool and a shapers square
killing it man. Ironic met up with my local shaper and we routed out an old futures box and set up a new one today. Everything you mentioned we did. Keep up the vids.

Nice one, how'd it turn out in the end?

@@smallkinedings it turned out okay, I helped route out the old box and set the angle with the dummy fin. The other guy laminated hot coated and sanded. For whatever reason his resin gave off a pinkish hue to it. It’s fully cured and has the neccessary strength but it’s not crystal clear like the other epoxy boxes. Not sure what happened but it worked. He used resin research quik kick maybe additive f gives off that color I have no idea.

@@dmac5678 o, that's weird. I've never used resin research myself, is it pink before it's mixed?
Thanks mate!

Hey brother, my pleasure and many thanks for the thanks, legend!
I just purchased an Aipa Big Boy Sting in 7"8". While at the shop, I chose a set of Futures twin fins, (Son of Cobra) that have a 7.5 degree of cant. How will this angle affect the performance?

So simply speaking, the less cant angle you have the faster and drivier the board will be. Think of a fish which will generally have very little (if any) cant angle. They turn in large arcs not sharp pivots like you’d see in the WSL. The more cant angle you have in your fins the more responsive and “loose” your board becomes but you’re sacrificing speed in gaining manoeuvrability. This is of course effected by your boards width, concave, tail shape, length and rail profile so your job as the boards owner is to find the happy medium for you between speed and manoeuvrability depending how you want to surf and how the board was intended to be surfed 🤙
Can you make a video with a quad fin mesures angles install?? Cheers from Portugal 🫡

Thanks, you can also add some tips on rail shapes and how to make them, if that's not too much to ask. You teach well and in detail I hope your channel continues to grow. Cheers from PT 🍻
first grab a beer have a sip think about it look at fin i got p sick fins, I know u a fan of certain color gradient fins.
Hey there again;-) My question is how to route the hole for the plug when having a v-concave at the tail? If you can make a movie about it, I would love that. Grtz steven

Heya man, can definitely show that ifnI get a job in like it. Important thing is to level your routing jig, so pack some shims under the rail side of the jig so that it's level before routing

@small kine dings ok, but for setting the plug into the hole, for example the left plug, is it so that the right side of the plug is deeper in the blank and not even? And if so, do you fill the space with epoxy before laminating? Hope you understand my question. It's difficult to explain without pics or vids
@smallkinedings

@@tracky2009 the only way one side of the route would be deeper than the other is if you haven't leveled your template. I'll try and do a short today to show it 🤙

@small kine dings thx a lott. And may I send you a picture on insta or Facebook of my plug right now. Because now I think I am in troubles because I already put in the plugs with epoxy 😞
