How to Find Limiting Reactants | How to Pass Chemistry

Just because these reactants are limited doesn’t mean your understanding will be! Limiting reactants or limiting reagents are explained in a simple, quick and visually pleasing way to help simplify Chemistry. This video shows step by step examples of limiting reactants and when to convert moles to grams and grams to moles. This will help you ace that stoichiometry section of your exam!

@@danielcastro5323 That's not fair. There are so many ways to explain things to students. I have had students from another teacher come to me because I "explain it right", and I've had my own students go to the other teacher because I "don't explain it well." This teacher is recognizing that there are other methods and is grateful that Melissa makes these videos. To be honest, I have had students tell me they don't like Melissa's videos. I think they teach for people who are majoring in chemistry. The way college professors lecture is to explain in depth theory even though most of the class doesn't need it because chem and a lot of other science and math classes are just a required class towards other stem majors. I try to look up KZread tutorials before lectures about subjects just so I can come in with a somewhat understanding and try to put together very fancy words for a simple concept.

I've stumbled across this channel recently and it's so helpful. My teacher goes through things way too fast and goes through a lot in an hour and a half. There's this know-it-all kid in the class as well who answers every question so I don't have the time to take things in and actually memorise or even understand things. I'm pretty sure there are others who feel the same like me so I'll definitely share this channel to them. It's super efficient as well since it's short and straight to the point and flies at a comfortable speed where it's not too fast, yet when you pause it to do things yourself, you're not lost either. I have after school activities as well (not anymore because of coronavirus but I'm still doing stuff as I'm a swimmer so losing all of fitness means I lose 1-4 years worth of training) so to actually take the time to research things for myself is impracticable.

Keep this up, this was fantastic. You're the next Tyler DeWitt in the making. Because I genuinely see a future in this channel's popularity and a future in your notes as a side business, I thought I'd leave some impressions and thoughts I have. PROS: -Background music was not distracting -Example was fun and something I could remember -Editing as a whole was entertaining to watch -Voice-over/mic quality is good -You gave an explanation for those who favor auditory by using the smoothie example, and one for visual learners with the problem. -You left your handles easily accessible in the description. CONS/ SUGGESTIONS: -I might try to tie the smoothie example in more with what we were learning. While fun, I had a little bit of an "okay, but why?" -Might also try to slow down in the smoothie example. -I might consider leaving an extra problem in the description for your kinesthetic learners to be able to try on their own. If you're really feeling it, include the step by step solution as well. -small nitpick, but the jump cuts as you placed down the paper words were slightly disorienting, and I found it somewhat difficult to keep up as a result. Thanks again. Hope the best for you.

Wow! I struggle with a learning disability, so having this simplified and visual-heavy explanation was so helpful!! Thank you so much for making this! :) It may require some extra effort, but I’m so determined to get my STEM degree lol-so far Chem is the only major roadblock and hopefully this cramming will help
