I worked at a bank when someone brought in a bunch of silver. I bought it and took it to the pawn shop. Back then I got $1.55 for each one. It was early 80's so that was decent.

Always ask for any "Customer Rolled" or Hand Rolled boxes.. many times they are already searched, but occasionally you run into a box that was part of a collection that the grandkids took to the bank for cash.

Awesome! I deal blackjack and I'm always on the hunt for silvers in my tray I have about 11 now. Found a Benjamin Franklin one a walking liberty one and a George Washington half dollars it's crazy to find the rare ones

Should look for error coins and stuff too ...they are worth alot :)

Soon as you look you should put it in a roll so its easy and counted already also you can ask for customer rolled instead of banked rolled you usually have more luck

I had a banker tell me silver wasn't a good inflation hedge.. hmm let's do the math. In 1940's you could buy a gallon of gas with a quarter (or less). That quarter (in the 40's) had about 25 cents worth of silver. Today, that same quarter is worth between $3 or $4.. because it has $3 - $4 worth of silver.. nope, terrible inflation hedge 😉

Depends how it is cleaned. If it is done with just plain soap and water thats fine but with chemicals and such that ruins the value.

He is definitely getting hardcore into the coin searching deal because he used the word "ender" that is a coin nerd term.

Enjoyed the hunt. As far as best boxes (brands) it varies from week to week. Sometimes Loomis is on fire and sometimes NF String & Sons has great boxes. Also, Brinks does well sometimes too. The key I have found is to order from different branches each week to see what we get. I also try to order 2 boxes so I double the chance at getting that 1 good one, as I have had a skunk box and then the 2nd box has had several.

I was doing this in high school over 35 years ago and quarters as well. Canadian quarters trick you though.

You can do it with dimes and quarters too
