I have a question could you please do a video on finding apartments? I found loads of apartments on pararius but I’ve heard you have to be careful with the payment or the extra payment for 1-3 months). When should I start looking for a place ? (Before I get a job there, or after?) - how to know a apartment is good or in bad condition or things to double check?

Thank you for the tips! From where I'm standing, applying for English-speaking jobs in NL doesn't ask for extra searching skills, unless you're determined not to involve any Dutch in your life at all, except deciding where to work. Almost all non-small-size employers in Randstad don't require Dutch speaking. Some positions (e.g software developers, researchers e.t.c) are international in its very nature regardless of location. Meanwhile, nothing can help if you want to work in the medical sector without speaking Dutch reasonably well.

Hi Gulce, really good video thanks. I've been looking and applying jobs for about two months. One of the tactics I used to save time and energy is to ask the contact person (when available) thru email, Inmail or Whatsapp message asking if they accept application from someone who will need visa support. 90%replies back. So I don't bother to apply if they say no. This save me time, energy and most importantly save my motivation because it's really tough to stay motivated while getting many rejections.

Hello! I am glad you enjoyed this video. It might not be so easy to find a job immediately as a young starter. But if you get hired by an international company, the likelihood increases. I hope this helps!

And is it necessary to show paid work experience, is it necessary to work for a registered organisation or it is okay to show work experience gained as a freelancer or as a worker who has worked for another person? I would start learning the language as soon as possible, and while doing that look at some companies/ banks you'd like to work for.

Hey there Taylor, I hope you’re doing well :) I think definitely finding a good position in tech should be relatively easy. There’s a lot of demand here and not enough qualified people. Regarding your situation , possibly you can look for opportunities in international schools and maybe even start your own independent business (for example teaching English or writing, etc.) If you have a particular question, feel free to reach out again.

The problem in INDEED is when you change the location to the Netherlands, you get everything in DUTCH, and cant understand a word. I would like to know, are there conten reviewers over there? It is like moderators for youtube, facebook, instagram, etc. I have 3 years of experience of that, and I am going to a warehouse :| . Hugz!

If you have an accounting and financing as a skill PLUS you speak Dutch (even if it's not 100% fluent yet), you can pretty much find a great job anywhere you like. I would definitely go through the opportunities in LinkedIn and indeed.com. Good luck!

Here is another Dutch Perspective for ya: you'll have to make a decision: Do you want to be entirely on your own, and maybe get to know a few other expats, then by all means stick to English. Do you want to mingle with the Dutch, get a good taste of True Dutch culture, and leave those other expats for what they are for a brief moment? By all means learn Dutch. Even though the vast majority of the Dutch population speaks more or less English, it really is Dutch which is the native language of The Netherlands. Dutch it is and Dutch it will be. To the Dutch it is like this: OK you speak English, so you do not take the trouble to learn Dutch, so you must be temporary here and you must be on your way out soon. We (The Dutch) lost interest in this person. Or: Hey well so nice of this foreigner to learn Dutch, he or she respects this country and its inhabitants and this person obviously wants to mingle with us: let's invite this person into our lives! English is a foreign language to us Dutchies it is a way to talk to strangers whom want to stay stranger, or maybe to a person who really want's to learn Dutch but just arrived... Let there be no misconception about this: English is to talk to strangers and Dutch among friends! This is The Netherlands after all and our language is Dutch and absolutely not English, although to strangers we will talk English. By choosing English as a language, you choose to stay a foreigner ! And so doors stay closed for you! Doors that will open for you when you speak Dutch ;-)

This is the way of Europe. In our countries we dont decide whether a person will be our friends based on how much of our home language they can speak. I know many expats who learned dutch but dont have dutch friends. I also have several Turkish friends who had dutch friends in their youth years but are not welcome anymore now that their school mates only socialise with their dutch friends. This is why the people use terms like alochtone and autochtone. A friend of mine is studying nursing and she says that her dutch classmates dont even want to do study groups with her and 50% of her dutch patients dont want her assistance because she is not dutch. Stop lying!! Of course not all dutch are like that but the discrimination is not based on language but where a person comes from.

Dutch employers discriminates against Non-Native English speakers no matter how good your English is or what your degree is. They even say they need people with no accents (French, German, indu, African etc) only . Stop Glorifying Holland as an equal opportunity country & give people false hopes.

I would say not every company in the Netherlands work that way. There are a lot of foreign multinational companies here and their required language is English and are equal opportunity employers. So it doesn't matter what your accent is as long as you can sufficiently communicate in English.

This youtuber has an uncanny quality and ability, while her choice of subjects should be interesting. Yet somehow she makes her videos very boring, long, and unbearable.

Why are you so lazy moving to a country and not learning the language? My fiance moved here and within a few months she already had the basic skills enough for a simple conversation and thats highly appreciated by her company even though it was not a requirement when they asked her to move here from India. You are a shame and should shame yourself.

Dear Maikel, hope you understand not everyone speaks Dutch since it is outside the Netherlands not a popular language to learn. So quite normal that people first look for an English speaking job. I am sure that as an Expat plan to live longer period in the Netherlands they will and they must learn Dutch. But don’t say they are lazy!! Some even need to improve their English first before even starting learning Dutch!
