This was Really well done, thanks WEX. But I’m mostly impressed by Ollie, his understanding of What he’s there to do, and Why, then thinking about How is the hardest part to express to others. He not only does this in his work (as do I), but also has the ability to effortlessly articulate it on camera. There’s a Ton of information packed into this short video, that can really be un-packed into a whole course. I could say more, but I really wanna know how do we find Ollie’s work? And does he have any more in-depth educational material like this online?

Great video. Feel the pace fits with the handheld footage. So much more control in post production when you got raw footage to work with which makes the final video look better even though it will be compressed by social media platforms. All footage gets compressed down the pipeline of shooting to viewing anyways. Well done and thank you for sharing 👍

Hey! Oli here; and that's a good question! It's a bright display, so I tend to use it more when I'm on exterior shoots, or when the camera is in awkward places (Dolly, low angle etc.). I also use it for commercials/narrative work with LUTs that are specific to those productions. In this kitchen environment I didn't really need it, so saved power and left it switched off. I didn't know what to expect for this shoot, so rigged it to my camera just in case!

Bro you have a lot of unnecessary equipment for promos but you dont have Gimbal. 😅 Shooting with cine lens and Raw for social media and instagram will take your footage and destroyed it. Unnecessary in my opinion save this gear for video clips and short film. And be will with your assistance she look like she affording energy to learn🙏🙏

Hey Alan! These are interesting points. I would probably agree that for this sort of shoot, the kit is definitely at the higher end - but given it's the kit I have, it's best to use it! I typically work on commercials, narrative projects and sometimes docos which this setup is arguably more suited for. In regards to the gimbal, it's a stylistic choice. I prefer the look of handheld for certain projects, and although I do own a gimbal I tend to reserve it for specific shots (high speed tracking shots between cars, or moments where following the action is required). I do agree that my assistant (Vicky) is amazing though!
