    @waynejill Earlier, I accidentally pasted a reply I had written for a viewer from India. Since you are from Australia, you get a visa-waiver for travel to Thailand for 30 days. You don't need to fill-up this form. After landing, go to an immigration counter where they will stamp your passport permitting a stay in Thailand upto 30 days, including the days of entry and exit. Carry a passport valid for at least six months, sufficient funds, confirmed hotel bookings for the entire stay, and return or onward journey air tickets for travel within 30 days. If you need to stay longer than 30 days, then take a sticker visa before travel.

    Whether white background photo is compulsory?

  • @desiyatri

    @desiyatri

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi. In the past, I have done a lot of search in this regard. Any official Thailand government source that deals with visa on arrival does not specify the background color of the visa photo. However, when it comes to Thailand sticker visa, to be obtained from VFS Global, the color of the photo background is specified as white. Taking a hint from that, I have come to believe that the photo background color should be white, even for VOA. You can take a chance with a different background color, but if they reject it, you will have to pay 300 Baht to get an instant photo in the VOA area. My suggestion is, carry a color photo in 4x6 cm, with a white background.

    See, this passport thing is equally relevant even when you check in for your flight or clear immigration at the airport of departure. What I can say is, if you are able to depart with that passport, then you will clear visa and immigration in Thailand as well. One suggestion, if you still have your old spectacles which you wore in the passport photo, carry those along.

    Do we need hard copies of return ticket and hotel booking or just soft copies. And do we need 20000 baht in cash of partly in forex card will also work.

  • @desiyatri

    @desiyatri

    Жыл бұрын

    For air tickets and hotel bookings, hard copies are needed. About the currency, logically speaking, partly in cash and the rest in a Forex card should be accepted. However, at Thai VOA counters, they intend to push tourists (mainly Indian tourists) towards the priority or express counters. At these special counters, you pay THB 2200, which is THB 200 extra, and then you get VIP treatment. Immediate visa processing, and no questions asked. Otherwise, if you go to a normal counter, they may ask you anything under the sun. If you are carrying a currency other than Thai Baht, they may ask you to change your money into THB inside the visa/immigration area, which will happen at horrible exchange rates. Or, they may just refuse to accept a valid forex card as a proof of funds. Sometimes, miracles happen, and a forex card may be accepted at a normal counter, but miracles rarely happen. My advice is, whatever you do, go to the priority counter and get your visa on arrival without any troubles. Later, when inside Thailand, you will get plenty of opportunities to save money and recover that 200 Baht extra you paid for the visa. I tell this to everyone, avoid any shopping in Thailand, unless you really need anything during your stay there. Everything is cheaper and better in India. Also, use public transport as much as possible, and exchange your money at the recommended money changers. Please see my money exchange videos for help.

    If you can decide on the dates of your Phi Phi and James Bond Island tours in advance, the best place to book those tours will be on the Klook mobile app. When you register on the app with your Indian phone and address, etc., you can pay with an Indian card in Rupees. It is also possible that once you are in Phuket, you can book any tours on Klook and pay with a Forex card. About changing money in Patong, I will request you to wait for two days. • @desiyatri

    @desiyatri

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi. I had this experience in October 2022. I went to the regular VOA counter and tried to convince them that I had money in the bank and I would withdraw from an ATM once I crossed immigration. They said no, and asked me to show cash. At that counter, the visa fee was 2000 THB. I went out and spoke to a visa staff guy there. He suggested that I try the priority counter where the visa fee was 2200 Baht. At the priority counter, they did not ask me anything, and my visa got processed quickly. Later in Bangkok, I withdrew cash from an ATM. So, the moral of the story is, they want you to pay 2200 Baht and take your visa from the priority counter. Logic does not seem to work at Thailand VOA counters. Another thing, the 10,000 Baht requirement is in addition to the visa fee. Better carry cash (USD or other convertible currency is ok), or go to the priority counter. Also, avoid taking INR to Thailand. INR exchange rate is really bad.

The exemption applies to Myanmar citizens only if they arrive at an international airport. I got this information from the website of the Royal Thai Embassy, Yangon. Hi. When two people are traveling together, it is ok to have only one name on the hotel reservation. However, it is helpful if both the persons carry copies of the booking confirmation.

    In that case, maybe you can request the booking site to include both names in the booking confirmation.

    If im staying at my thai friend's place, i need to fill his address in Address In Thailand? And do i need like a guarantee letter from him ?

  • @desiyatri

    @desiyatri

    Ай бұрын

    @Lajterica If you are staying at a friend's place, you can write his address. But you will need to arrange for an invitation letter from your friend. This letter will have your friend's name, address, phone number, and residence status in Thailand. The letter will also have your name, address, passport number, and dates of stay in Thailand.

    Is Singapore photo and Thailand photo same for visa

  • @desiyatri

    @desiyatri

    9 ай бұрын

    Hi @Rags1982 The Singapore visa photo size, according to my experience when I applied for a Singapore visa the last time, was 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm. The photo requirement for Thailand Visa on Arrival is 4 cm x 6 cm. Hence, not the same.

    Thanks, can I manage with Singapore measurements or will they be strict

  • @desiyatri

    @desiyatri

    9 ай бұрын

    @Rags1982 I have seen them accept Singapore size photo. They are not strict. But what they expect is that everyone opt for the fast track visa. I suggest you do the same for a hassle-free experience. At the document verification stage, when you show them your documents, also show 2200 Baht cash for visa fee. That will mean that you intend to take fast track visa. They will be happy. At the fast track VOA counter, they will just see your passport, application form, return ticket, & 2200 Baht cash. And you will have your visa in under 10 minutes. This has been my experience so far, and I am sharing it with you as a fellow traveler.
