Dear Brother Ziet, Thank you very much for creating this valuable video that helped me file my tax for 2023, This is the very first time I'm doing this as I just got employed last year after finishing my studies, I asked my dad, he was not willing to help me on this, anyways, I really appreciate and value your effort in this video. Hi Ziet, if you are a retiree for many years and LHDN has already been informed many years ago and since then, LHDN notified you that you need not fill up any income tax form anymore. Recently, you sold a house inheited from your parents more than 5 years ago. And you have only this house - 1 only. And LHDN sent you a letter indicating that you do not have any RPGT to pay meaning you are exempted from RPGT, do you still need to file an income tax form for this year ? Please advise Ziet. Thank you.
thank you for the sharing , by the way I need to do the amendment after submission of form, for the part "Type of assessment", but found that they're not allowed me to switch from "joint in the name of the husband" to the individual and spouse that hope to elect for" separate assessment" instead.

How about dividen from Public Listed Companies on Bursa Exchange or the US exchange. Do we need to declare them?
@ZietInvests

Hi luqman, i believe dividends from companies listed on Bursa Malaysia are taxed under a single-tier system, which means the dividends paid to you by the companies are not taxed again in your hands. "All dividends distributed by Malaysian resident companies under a single-tier dividend are not taxable." Source: www.sc.com.my/api/documentms/download.ashx?id=d8d52671-5030-498b-8fb9-7eb7afb47df4

hi Ziet Guru, I need advice on "Life insurance and EPF" relief. I made more than RM10k for the EPF Compulsory contribution (company salary deduction) in 2023.Hence for the "- Contribution to EPF (voluntary or compulsory) / approved scheme" I would submit RM4k in full for relief. The confusion is on the "- Life insurance premium / Contribution to EPF (voluntary)" . whether can i claim all the RM3k ?? since there is still a balance of RM6k excess Please advise hopefully by 14May..... thanks in advance

Dear Brother Ziet for 8:50 rental income is incorrect. You need to take rental which you collected on last year not simply X12 and minus the interest you paid for housing loan (exclude repayment) and all repair cost with receipt.

Hi Selina, as far as my knowledge goes, if you're renting out the property, you can deduct expenses related to rental income, such as loan interest, from your taxable income. Do give LHDN or an accountant (can google) a call to double check ya
Hi Ziet Thanks for all these informative videos that you’ve been doing. By the way just want to ask you something. For self employed sole prop under borang B, does LHDN ask for all the record of supplier and customer invoices beside profit and loss statement? Since I dont have a complete record of it will I get a penalty fine and if yes do you know how much? Hope you can enlighten me please Thanks in advance 🙏🏻
@ZietInvests
Ай бұрын
Hello! When it comes to filing under borang B for self-employed individuals, LHDN typically expects you to maintain a complete record of transactions, including invoices from suppliers and customer invoices, along with your profit and loss statements. If there's a lack of complete records, there might be some risk of penalties, but it can vary. BUT then again, it depends if you're the lucky ones chosen for audit (not everyone will be audited)...but better safe than sorry right XD What I can suggest: try getting your supplier or customer to re-sign the invoice/delivery order, or something of sort - it will be very helpful when you need it in a pinch. Hope this helps!!

Hi Ziet, i) How about being unemployed and using savings to pay monthly donations to Unicef etc, etc. Could we still input my Statutory income as '0" right? ii) Also, in another scenario, if a Business owner (Sdn Bhd) can we still use Borang BE to declare individual income (if any), since we declare our business income using Borang E? iii) How about having Sofi HK (apps) and buying US stock via it, will that be considered as "Financial accounts outside of Malaysia?" How about the Crypto accounts such as Luno (Malaysian-based), or Binance, and Coinbase (both outside of Malaysia)...Should we put a YES? Please advise and thank you for all the hard work that you & your team put in to create such an amazing channel! 🙏
@ZietInvests
Ай бұрын
Hi! i) yup! if you're unemployed and don't have any income, generally yes, you would report '0' for income. ii) for business owners using a Sdn Bhd structure, you'd typically use Borang E for the company's tax, while personal income from the company (like your salary) would be declared with Borang B (individual with business income). iii) As for investing in US stocks through apps or holding crypto with platforms outside of Malaysia, these could fall under 'Financial accounts outside of Malaysia'. It's always best to be transparent and report these accounts, so checking 'YES' would be the safest option. Hope this helps!

I'm not rich but I live a very modest lifestyle. As a result, I have minimal financial commitments. If targeted subsidies are based on net disposable income, I think there's less chance of me receiving the subsidies. Hi onigiri, personally, I put in 0. If I'm not mistaken, this section is for those who have received income from being an agent, dealer, or distributor, where the companies have withheld a 2% tax from their earnings. If this applies to you, simply report your gross income for these activities. I hope this makes things more clear!
