My preferred opening on most classes is, buffs, shadowstep > leech > snare > snipe > overwhelm > shadowsmite > backdrop(or just moving away) > throw dagger > Charged/piercing > concussive(shackle from shadowsmite about to end) > boneyard > then either float or hunting pack depending

Great video. My only suggestion would be to pause it at intervals and highlight the tells that indicate what action you are countering. Also because I suck, a non-music version and a rotation breakdown would make my day. :)

Hi Rythmn, ty for your videos. I have a little question. Do you still play darkrunner in this 3.0 ? I still play but i don't know now how to execute your combo with the honnor nodachi (with the frenzy buff) because now the skill which make ennemy sleep is only for 3s... Not the time to switch weapon and activate the buff. Have you an idea to replace with skill with maybe another one wich cc the ennemi more time to execute the combo ? (please excuse my bad english, i am french)

saving grace is most DR are two-handers now. keeps them from parry proccing like crazy like the old days. you can actually put out damage now.

Its quit easy to anticipate leech engage and counter it accordingly, even if u stealth away. Tho it could be smth specific to me, since when i started (back in the old days) daggerspells were everywhere, going into stealth +shadowstep+banshee combo, so i had to learn how to counter it.

Good vid man. I only say good and not great cause I dont like DRs or Primes lol. But Still like the vids you are bringing out. They are helping a friend of mine that is trying Prime this time around. On the vid setup I would say lead with the guide and then cut to the music vids for the end.

When a Darkrunner fights you and you wear cloth, you are the one that ends up broken up.

Rythmn as an Australian I'll have higher ping I can get it to roughly 130 with a VPN is primeval still viable with this ping?

nah primeval is ping dependant. 10-70ish is still ok.

I wont say that it wont be viable, but what i would say that you would struggle with your endless arrows, idk how bad it will be with 130 ping but your endless arrows will differ, you will obviously not be able to hit as fast as Rythmn does. I have played on NA as a primeval, i am not sure how high my ping was but my endless arrows were very boring and slow.

You see, that's why I rerolled classes. On NA servers it's fine, but move to Prophecy EU and there's a constant server lag that makes it impossible to use movement defensively like that. I thought it would better with time, but we're well into the fresh start servers now, and they're still running on a toaster. Also, very sexy snail.

Hey there, im a primeval myself on eu prophecy, around 4700 equipment score, Im not a pro in any case but i have my own way of dealing with darkrunners. But let me say something first. Your way and my way get fucked up even with 1 resist, DR's are so op that even someone with 3000-3200 gear score can kill you in 1 combo no matter how geared you are. One other thing is that balanced arena is 9/10 loses against DR, it ain't balanced at all. 13991 hp is bullshit, giving me shield buff and divine buff and i have 13991?? I have with celestial and dual weapons outside arena 16100 Hp..... Ok let's see, the combo im using atm and works really good is, sleep> snare(walk back a little so you cant get slept)>snipe(the target now gets tripped cause he was snared)>overwhelm>shadowsmite(tripped again)> concussive shot(he is now silenced)>dropback>throw dagger(increased ranged because of dropback)>charged bolt(this will stun, since you hit with throw dagger and slowed him). By then or earlier any DR will have died with my gear BUT if a resist happens it gets rly tough...... Plus obviously more casual gamers wouldn't have my gear so it would be even harder. To be honest DR is such a cheat... i went today with my alt lvl 51 DR in arenas and won 8/10....(the balanced ones-600equipment score on me).

why they just dont backdrop/shadowstep/leech u, i dont understand ^^

lol, u have ability, u use it, same goes for everyone..

not bad, though im surprised you dont do leech > snare > snipe. it will trip the target. I'm also surprised how little darkrunners and melee users in general dont use liberation, that shit is a life saver against other DRs and leechers. and would easily allow them to get you after the concussive. Pretty good though, just wish there was less leech. that mythic ping is OP >. SEXY SNAIL

BTW, would be awesome to see some setup duels against the better players on the server. out of all the darkrunners in this video, i know a few of them are just overall bad. some I dont know who they are but dont seem to play well. only one i know that is good is Cucklord. Having some setup duels with players on your skill level would be awesome to see!

yeah if the darkrunner for some reason cannot get any deflect and parry (or if he/she is dumb enough to not take the passive) will lose, but with the immense power of gapclosers we have it's hard. in gladiator if you are able to just combo him then yeah it's easy to kill.

frekin DRs can kill all so unbalanced its still the best dps class overall

Its easier to kill most darkrunners like this because of the two handed meta and they have low parry rates even with battle focus as you can see all the fights are against 2h weapons but its a trade off as dual wielding parries more but does a lot less dmg. Keep an eye on their buffs and general rule of thumb as an archer though like Rhythmn says, dont get caught hahaha.

You also have extremely good ping too man. You have a severe advantage against 95% of the population that is playing archeage. And yes it is possible to win without leech. Just bait out 2 of their gap closers with only one of yours. Sure its hard af and there are times you wont win but its more enjoyable to win when you know you didn't cheese the guy hard every match.

Trigga I wish it were that easy Trigga, but no it is not possible to win without leech vs a competent Darkrunner, trust me I've tried multiple times. I've come to a conclusion that I just don't gentlemen rule out leech vs Darkrunner since it's already a cheese class, hence why I don't play it, id quit WAY too fast for lack of competition.

Hey Rythmn as a darkrunner with more then 5000 hours as the class and previously playing primeval for about 2000 i would have to way this guide is pretty deceiving, you showed one or two people who beat you and the rest were people with no experience, all the people in this guide used two-handers to start with, meaing they dont get the parry buff against archery which i can guarentee you even as 2h darkrunner i still used this passive meaning all i had to do was switch to a shield and any shitty weapon and any primeval would do next to no damage, most of these darkrunners didn't even spec liberation, like seriously WTF?? and @Trigga Darkrunner is the most broken class in this game, primeval imo is one of the worse balanced classes in the game if Rythmn didnt use leech the person he would be fighting would have to be a complete idiot not to win!

you aren't even using the best cc combo cycle for a prime, you literally waste your leech, and your maximum dmg output for your concussive by not building up blood stack, which is a bonus for concussive. You should be sniping after leeching, which causes another trip and it's easy to cc combo drs to death after that. please don't make archery videos against other classes, if you don't even know the basics, which any decent prime player would know.

or instead of being butt hurt try using snipe after leech and use concussive after you cycled your cc combos then make a video on how to fight drs. Every experienced prime or archer class knows these basics.

How does one use concussive on a Darkrunner when he's not slept and/or getting a trip with snipe without using snare? Oh do you use snare and leave yourself vulnerable to a shackle that DRs do with shadowsmite? Pls teach me senpai, I want to learn your ways.

Rythmn you can literally fit it in after any of the other cc combos like overwhelm shadowsmite or throw dagger and charged bolt. I usually weave in toxic shot and piercing shot between each cc combo then finishing with concussive after the bleed effect for the extra def pen. for drs you can literally cycle through your cc combos stealth away then use 55 abyssal to concussive snipe before the bleed wears off for the pen and remain untouched.

I could have seen your reasoning up until then, but you lost me there lol. Oh and please don't say you get them to use shrug by throwdagger > charged, that is too unreliable vs a Darkrunner who parries everything.
