Hi bud, I got this gun yesterday, and GOD blessed me with you providing me with your film. I am 76 and only a few things to do for pleasure. First things first, I have a Word for you. Isaiah 53:1-12. HE was thinking of you on that Hill. He is the same yesterday, and today, and for ever. Hebrews 13:8. Second, thank you for giving your gift freely.

Hello from France . Thanks for the video that were very helpful. I just bought a .22 Colt 1911 Gold Cup and I watched your instructions before the first disasembly and lubricating. I only passed a few dozens of ammunitions but the gun seems already fun and accurate. Unlike the GSG/SIG it seems to accept all types of ammunition and cycles very well. Many thanks and best regards.

Fantastic review, thank you sir. I've watched three reviews of this pistol and yours is the most comprehensive, thorough, and detailed. I had no idea the barrel was sleeved, I thought what I saw was the actual diameter. You're the first person to show a full field strip and ammunition test with different brands for accuracy and reliability. A light on a pistol never made sense to me for a civilian until you brought up varmint hunting at night. I never liked the look of the rails either. I was surprised that this weighs so close to a Government length .45. Best of luck and a speedy recovery in regards to your knee surgery, I hope it helps.

Very good video sir. It is a good looking 1911. This is my first video watching the field strip of the Walther 1911 .22. The one thing I found interesting was that the barrel is captive to the frame on the Colt/Walther 1911-22. I have a Blue Line Solutions- Mauser 1911-22lr made in Germany, most likely by GSG. The barrel on the Mauser/GSG is not captive to the frame and removes from the slide upon removal of the barrel bushings, guide rod and the spring. The 1911-22s are very fun to shoot. I hope you continue to enjoy yours.

Thank you for all the great videos. Your video on trigger pull, especially the story about how the women “squeeze” the trigger, solved my low and left problems. With regard to this pistol, I just purchased one a few weeks ago after seeing your enthusiasm for the weapon. I was a little tentative, as I had a terrible experience about 10 years ago with the Sig Sauer 1911-22. Could hardly fire a magazine full without at least one hang up. Finally sold it and bought a Beretta M9-22, which has been a fantastic shooter. I have only fired about 200 rds through the Walther-Colt, using Mini Mags, CCI segmented and Aguila Super Extra, and have not had a failure of any kind. My only issue with the gun is that it shoots about an inch and a half left. I’m looking for a sight pusher to adjust the windage. I agree with you about the trigger pull and comfortable 1911 grip angle. It’s a lot of fun shooting. Thanks again for all the informative videos. You’re a great teacher! Hope the recovery is going well.

Hi GunBlue, I'm saying a prayer for your surgery as I type. I had a knee replaced about 6 years ago, and it's working very well. You'll be stiff at first, do your rehab exercises, it'll come along. What really helped me was to sit and bring my knee back as far as I could, just hold it there for 10 or 15 seconds, and then before you straighten it, look at where your heel is and bring it back another 1/4 inch. Just keep doing that, and you will be surprised how much range of motion you will gain. When you reach the limit, hold it, then go a little bit more. Good luck and blessings to you. I just ordered my Colt Walther 22, looking forward to it, thanks for the training.

Thats the gun I used to teach my kids how to shoot handgun with ,I liked the grip safety for teaching them felt between that and the exposed hammer it was easier for them and i to know when it was ready to fire .It won't fire unless they were gripping it and locks open when empty .and really runs nearly flawlessly And very little muzzle rise easy for them to get used to

Had my right knee replaced last May, best surgical decision I’ve ever made, nice to walk without pain, first time in 5 years, now the left knee will be replaced next month to complete the bionic pair. Hope and Pray your recovery is as smooth as mine was. 3-4 days using a walker, then nothing more than a cane to stabilize after that. I’m 73 and the Physical Therapy was relatively easy, some minor pain but not bad. Prayers for a speedy recovery! 🙏

Glad to hear you have a call into Silencer Central about the adapter for a silencer, as my 22 can came from them. I checked out these online after your last video, and I need to verify the metal it is made of, as I live in one of those states that won't allow the sale of firearms made of metals where the frame, barrel, cylinder, slide or breech-lock is composed of any material with a melting point of less than 1,000 degrees F, or an ultimate tensile strength of less than 55,000 psi, or comprised of any powdered metal having a density of less than 7.5 grams/cubic centimeter. So firearms like the Ruger Wrangler .22 revolvers, Walther rimfire pistols, Cobra, Phoenix Arms, Heritage Arms, Hi-Point, and GSG rimfire pistols are not allowed in this state. And since this one is made by Walther, I am going to have to verify it's build before attempting to buy one. Not seeing them in the local shops though, which is usually a sign they don't meet the proper build requirements. Would really like to own one though.

Hello Sir… I alway enjoy your videos. You are extremely knowledgeable. Thank you. 2 Questions please. 1) On this Walther (Which is amazingly simple to take down) after cleaning; when I rack the slide, it does not stay back unless I manually push up on the slide lock. This is a brand new pistol for me and I haven’t gone to the range yet. Hopefully tomorrow. Is this normal? 2) This is the wrong venue for this but my SW Model 41 is a great pistol but I struggle after every take down getting the trigger guard to lock up flush. Does the safety have to be on? I eventually get it but I fight it every time. Thank you… Gene McCann / GA

Please you sound very well read on Colt's what's the quality of them these days some have been disappointed with quality control, I have seen a video on You-Tube about a military modern 1911 that came from the Colt's custom-shop it had a poor slide to frame fit it rattled like a rattler snake, there was a gap at the bottom of the flared magazine, he slid a piece of paper through it to prove his point, I don't know if they altered the pistol, but they come across as genuine, does Colt's now have issues with quality control? You might have something to say on the matter constructively.

Nice 👍. Trying to decide between two revolvers.... If you had to choose between two of the same size and weight, option 1) is a 4" 357 mag, 7 shot cylinder , using 180gr BB hard cast, or 200gr grizzly hard cast. Option 2 is a 4" 41 mag, 5 shot cylinder, using 230gr BB hard cast, or 250gr grizzly hard cast. Which one would you chose to save your life in big Bear country?

I've seen some video on questionable poorly fitted parts from the Colt custom shop it was a 1911 military spec in 45 acp brown coated covering, the fit barrel bushing to the barrel was slacker than it should have been, it must of affected the accuracy of this high-end pistol, the fit slide to frame rattled without a bullet being discharged down the range, thumb safety didn't feel positive, they talked about the flange magazine well, had at the bottom a gap you could pass a sheet of paper through, it cost over 2200 dollars and came directly from the Colt custom shop. This video is on You-tube makes a legitimate argument for not now buying a colt 1911, what on earth is going on? I understand Colt has changed hands, no one can sell on their reputation alone, standards and quality control seems to be wanting for another phrase that comes to mind. Colt at one time meant to the most part excellence and reliability built into these fine guns, USA stood for something then, I sure loved to shoot my "Gold Cup" and it was extremely accurate and well made with tight fit tolerances, how does these things happen, Colt was a giant in the industry, hmm sad. As a young man in the early 80's I bought my first 1911 Gold Cup the build quality was excellent, tight Bushing to barrel fit, tight slide to frame fit, positive click as you thumb hit down the thumb safety, there are several video's on poorly fitted pistols and revolvers, the Colt Anaconda 44 magnum had a review his revolver he took the stock grips off to see the inside workings, there was chunks not grinded down but it looked like it had been chiseled down, hmm the video camera picked it up in great detail, what a untidy mess under the stock grips, then he tried to put the grips back on it, he was going on about the grips being difficult to align them due to poor engineering. I had a few good years in the Tyne Valley Gun Club as vice chairman all that meant really was life membership, 40 odd years ago yes it was fun and I shot a lot of ball 230 grain down range, yet the slide remained reasonably tight after 2000 rounds, can you tell me what's happening to their brand, have they no pride in their workmanship. Colt1911 warmest regards, the sport of shooting in competitions alas got canned in the UK I just watch others shoot on You-Tube these days since they reformed the part one firearm license many years ago. I'm badly disabled so I have to get others to type messages, but I wondered what Colt is doing. @ColtDee

Hello, a really interesting video as usual. Is there any way of sending you a pdf by email ? I would like to share with you a copy of a recent book I have written about firearms possession and gun violence in the US and Europe. All the best!

How does the trigger compare to a real 1911? The internals on this gun looks a lot like my Walther P22 made by the same company. Obviously the P22 is a DA/SA and this is an SA so I'm very curious about how the trigger feels vs a traditional 1911. Walther/Umarex make very accurate barrels from my experience so good to see this gun is keeping pace. I really want one of these.

It is a real 1911 and the trigger is as good as my Colt Gold Cup National Match. Being a rimfire, it doesn't require a locking breech, but it's every bit a 1911. The crisp trigger lets off from the box at just over 3 pounds.

Do you have an exhaust fan in your range? I don't hear it but you should be using it. A range in the basement, nice. Good looking gun? The action internally is like the sig mosquito. Another .22 that mimics a big brother and is made by another company on licence.

Yes, I do, right above me, but for those few shots, no. The noise would have caused too much audio interference. Thank you for your concern.

Yep, that's certainly not recommended. Detroit Bullet Trap (defunct) once made a centrifugal trap rated for up to 38 Special and 45 ACP that were quite popular for home ranges. That changed during the 70's when the proliferation of new indoor police ranges revealed the dangers of chronic lead and hazardous smoke inhalation, even in heavily ventilated indoor environments. I generally restrict my exposure to very brief periods and not more than once per week, using only 22 rimfires. A strong exhaust is directly over me that removes fumes. I flush all trap lead dust and spatter from the epoxy enamel floor immediately afterwards, which is rinsed down a floor drain.

I would cancel that surgery and lose weight and take supplements to help rebuild cartilage.
