Aaaaaaye! I'm from Hyannis, and played hockey and baseball for Phillips Exeter, and then I sucked in college😂 I just read your bio. Right on with the Mass roots and playing for Falmouth. That's where I was born. But go, Harbor Hawks, baby!

Excellent stuff - saving this for next season to show my 10 year olds. Only thing I'd add is to work on getting a 4-seam grip naturally out of your glove, makes your first baseman happier. ;) Also found the short arm action (don't let the ball get wet) interesting, I'm not sure how good that'll work with the really young players who need a little more strength to short arm throws.

Thanks I appreciate it! For sure, they can continue to shorten up the arm action as they get older. Thanks for watching!

1: Get your body to the right side of the ball (Ball under your left ear) BECAUSE its easier to field closer to your glove side As your working through the ball after setup Your trying to pickout the best hop. 2: Pickout the best hop. Shorthop right into glove or long hop at the highest point. You don't want a tweener. 3: Breakdown your feet. Long steps coming up on the ball (Right left on planting feet) then breakdown your feet when you get closer to the ball. Taking longersteps will make it harder to field. Then step right left into the ball. 4: FIeld the ball over your left eye. You set this part up earlier in step 1. 5: Make sure you have a flatback when your fielding the ball. If your back isn't flat then you cant see it and it turns into painful fielding. 6: Make sure your control hand is just off center and close to your glove, but not to close 3:44 ball should hit above your fingers but not in your palm 7: Use control hand to trap the ball, but don't close your glove or else you have to dig it out and that takes to long. 8: Right to left and left to targte. Left foot to your right foot and your right foot to your target... that gets your momentum going to your target. Make sure your shoulders are flat. 9: Breaking the ball out of your glove and make sure you have a 4 seem fastball. 10: Make sure your armpath is short. WATCH THE VIDEO. I just made a list to remember for myself.

Excellent info. Except I see a lot of infielders catch the ball and pull both arms up to their stomach way to fast causing fumbles and pulling the glovevaway from the catch to soon causing a miss. I would suggest being more quiet with the glove and moving your body to it as apposed to funneling into the gut.

So after fielding the ball would you say it's crucial to get the back foot 90 degrees (like kicking a soccer ball with the side of your foot) to your target? I'm thinking about 7 to 9 year olds.
