I was just about to give away a couple of beautiful sweaters that had some small holes in them....so happy I didn't! Thanks!
just put them in pillow cases, thus avoiding problems
very instructive video, thanks so much for producing it. I am thinking of making felted wool inserts for my mammoth crocs. Any idea of how what percentage of shrinking would occur when felting an already shrunken merino sweater? I have enough fabric presently, but don't know what it will look like after felting it, so if I wouldnt have enough, id probably donate the sweater to my local thrift store than ruin it completely.
I get a lot of lint in my washer and stuck to my sweater. What is the best way to remove that from the sweater?
where do we find the 'how to thrift shop' video you mention in this clip? I can't find it on youtube anywhere?

Sorry that this comment wasn't answered! That is a class on the CreativeLive website, www.creativelive.com/courses/thrift-store-shopping-101-blair-stocker
Can wool blankets be felted? How would you do this? What is the end result of felting? I am looking for a tighter warmer weave.

Yes! Like she says though, make sure it does not say machine washable, those usually have a ton of anti shrink chemicals that do not like to come out. minimum 80 percent wool (angora is a no go though) Different weaves will come out with more or less felting. After brushing and teasing out more hairs rub and wring it a bunch in hot water with a harsh soap (opens up the hairs "scales" that help them interlock). It may not work well if it has already been shrunk, but can still be done to a degree. If using the hot method, you will lose a bit of size, but usually no more than 2-4 inches on a 60x90 blanket.
