As Muslim, there are few important information about fasting I want mention here. Muslim fast only for Allah and one Hadith Mention that Allah will give reward all who fast personally. Moreover, There is a gate in the Garden called ar-Rayyan which those who fast will enter on the Day of Rising, and none but they will enter it." It will be said, 'Where are the fasters?' They will stand up and none but they will enter it. When they have entered it, it will be closed and no one else will enter it." (Hadith). Furthermore It is recommended to fast 6 days in Shawwal but not obligatory. Fasting six days in Shawwal after observing the Ramadan fast gives the person the reward of fasting throughout the year.

Praise be to Allah. Shaykh Ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked about using toothpaste whilst fasting. He said: there is nothing wrong with that so long as one is careful to avoid swallowing any of it, just as it is prescribed in Islam for the fasting person to use the siwaak (tooth-stick) Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn Baaz, 4/247

@@rachnaverma3673 sorry for this illiterate person these people are responsible for defaming Islam. The great Muslim Sufi Molana Rumi RA narrates a story how such people prevent other people from seeing beauty of Islam. The story is like this : once a group of Muslims travel to a non Muslim land and person with a bad voice gives call to prayer(azaan) all tell him to not say it loudly to disturb others with his harsh voice but he doesn't pay heed and completes the azaan and when azan is complete a non Muslim comes running bringing gifts and presents with him and asks for the muezin(who gives call to prayer) he say he has brought all these gifts for the muezzin. People ask him that the muezzin voice is so bad and you are non Muslim so why you brought all these gifts. The non Muslim tells that he has a daughter who was influenced by Islam and wanted to converted no matter how much pressure they put on her she only loved Islam more but today when she heard this terrifying sound of call to prayer she enquired what this harsh sound was she was told it was Muslim call to prayer she immediately began to feel disinterested and repelled from Islam after this story Molana Rumi RA says just like sound of that muezzin many Muslims with their bad character and bad ways bad behavior push non Muslims away from Islam. And this person who commented here is one of those..

I appreciated your input on fasting in Islam, however there were many things that I did not agree with. First of all, fasting should be done at night ( sunset to dawn ) , not dawn to sunset. Why do you think that the first meal of the day is called " Break - Fast " ? Answer: Because while you slept last night, you did not eat. Also, you should know that demons are most active at night, but loose their strength during the daytime. They obtain their power from darkness. By not eating or drinking, not even water, you are actually weakening yourself and your ability to fight them. (We are most active during the daytime ) Also, summertime in some parts of the U.S. and many of the warm climates can mean as much as 15 hours of daylight. Not drinking water for this long in 80 plus degree temperatures is not only foolish, but very dangerous. The actual goal of fasting is zero calories. So water should be allowed.
