Your tips and practice methods are broken down so well, they work for longboard freestyle tricks too! I managed to learn no-complies and fakie bigspin like this

ay that's awesome! Stoked to hear that they work for longboarding too 🙌
this is like the most in depth video i’ve ever seen on a trick lmao, thank you
Great video, as always.
Amazing, thank you!
This is a trick I honestly kind of forgot about - I've got kickflips pretty consistent and moved onto heelflips quickly after. Will try some of these next session, lots of spinning isn't something i'm super used to so it would help me a ton! Thank you for the tutorial!
That is one of the coolest looking tricks I've ever seen!
Thankyou this was so helpful

ahh happy to hear that 😃
Well explained 👍🙂
Ahh I just started working on this trick this morning, so happy you did a tutorial! Can't wait to try again tonight after watching this! Learning half cabs first also gives you a leg up!!

One of my favorite tricks. Great trick to follow a frontside 180.👍

oh 💯
Can’t wait to try these tips to get bs bigspins. I can do these on a carpet board but doing them on a real skateboard just freaks me out. Seeing a breakdown of tricks to work on to get there really helps make it feel like a series of small victories that eventually add up to the trick. Thanks!

Ahh, hope you have fun 🙌🙌
Lots of good tips. I’ve been getting mine more consistently here recently. My limiting factor was the body varial. I find that when I commit to landing with my shoulders closed instead of open, it USUALLY puts the little extra umpf into the shuv. Keep it up ✌️

Yeah! To get them fully around. I think it's one of my big limits too. The body varial and leaning forward. Stoked you're getting them more consistent! 🙌
Nice!
thanks so much for this, cant wait to try it out! ive been having trouble with kickflips so im gonna try learn these so i can take a break from kickflips

ahh kickflips are a tough one! Hope you can have some fun with these! :D
Just started trying these for the first time on the weekend. A long way from getting them, so I appreciate the helpful tips 👍🏾. I've already got a pretty good popped fakie shuv but have always had issues with spinning backside. Re the front foot assist, a friend who has long had these on lock was recommending kicking the board round with the front foot too (which feels a bit weird at this point tbh). Looking fwd to getting these in the near future 😁

ay that's awesome! Same, though. It was really weird to add in the front foot, but it did help. Cool someone else had that help too 😃 Hope you have fun working on these 🙌
Hop-to-revert practice step is great, thanks for that. Also, as a practice step for the practice step, learning stationary hop-to-manual first helped a lot before trying hop-to-revert.

ayyy 🙌 glad you liked that step! I was a little worried adding the mini tutorial into the big tutorial. But, I thought it was ultimately helpful 💪 happy to hear it was
TY for the buildup exercises to do the trick. Tomorrow morning is my skatepark day. (It's totally dead on Sunday morning). I'm going to try and work on some of these. After 30 years off a board and only being 3 months back I'm still trying to get where basics feel comfortable.

No problem! Glad you liked the exercises 😃 Have fun shredding in the morning 💪
I like how you land with a bit of revert - smooth. My issue is that I can't pop them very high without them flipping and then landing primo. If you figure that part out, that would be helpful. Thanks!
@SarahParkMatott

haha yeah, that's why I don't pop them at all 😂 at least not on purpose. I imagine that will take a while to get the finesse to be able to do that!
I just learned these after 15 year break... and I find that I really have to jump forward and toward toe side to land it..
You do them quite well, you might want to open the archives and check out Pat Brennan's part in Powell's (1991/2) video "Celebrity Tropical Fish," he did them quite well and has a slew of interesting flat ground street tricks (his part was more street and less jumping down stuff).

oh thank you! I'll write that down to watch later. I love street parts that focus a lot more on flat ground. Thanks for the rec!
my most comfortable and consistent big-spins were always nollie backside, which seems odd bc i'm landing blind and switch :)

😂 I can't even imagine haha
tried a few nollie back shoves, rough and rusty but landed a couple. used to like to do to manual. it's obscenely hot out already

Hey Sarah . As usual suberb tips. Thx for that. İs this a new deck ? Could you share pls? ( deck , truck , wheels) ı mainly ride my old freestyle board but gonna try some new tricks on a streetboard . Thx in advance.

I’ve been skating it for a while here and there! It’s actually a custom deck from Open Source Skateboards. You could technically get one, but they are expensive. I typically go for a 7.75 if I can and an 8 if that’s my only choice. On this setup I had thunders and 101 duro 52mm wheels.
My back foot just cannot commit, I have so many bruises on my one shin lol

MUST levitate! :)

Ahh seriously. Shin guards are perfect for these 😂 but yesss work on the body varial and levitation 💪
