I’m 53 and never was introduced to these moves as a kid, I’m learning now. I only practiced about 40 minutes and the peddling backwards came natural but requires practice to be consistent. My goal is to learn a few bmx tricks in 2023 and diet down under 200lbs , all for riding my bikes! I used a wall for stopping then tried to reverse out of it, thus the fake! Thanks for the explanation 👍

I did practice going both ways, coming out to my right and to my left. I did not pay attention to what my feet were doing when practicing coming out in both directions

It’s really nice bro! I’m 30 and start riding just this year! I was afraid of getting hurt, but now, older I can have more control and awareness to fall! Keep going! 💪
In my opinion and the way I learned to fake was using a quarter pipi. Roll up and back down effortlessly, and learn to roll out each time. I learned at a skatepark, I tried it 100 times over and over, and pretty much had it in a day. And then learn to 180 on flat ground, fakie and roll out and you got it!!
Out of all the good fakie how-to's out there, this is the only one that teach the cab or turnaround part more detailed. And that's the part I'm having difficulties the most lol. Plus I'm also left foot-forward so this is just perfect. Thanks for this man!
when i learned fakies i found it easier to not lift the back wheel and to roll up really slow and push off of the curb harder. it helps you roll backwards faster and longer

Thanks big dawg! 🙏🏻✊🏼
I learned by riding up a small embankment and then rolling backwards down it. We had front brakes back then, and it was 1983. But I see plenty of small embankments in parking lots and such that have a parking block or curb at the top. I think that would make it easier to learn.
Thank you ! Thank you this video was so helpful. You broke it down well with many different scenarios
I struggled to pull off a fakie with my cassette, but yesterday I tried a freecoaster for the first time (Cinema ZX) and tried to fakie on a quarter, not thinking id make it, and to my surprise i held a fakie for about 3 seconds. I was super pumped and then found this video. I think this video will be helpful, thanks
I like how you do all different platforms of BMX videos keep it up Alf🔥🔥
We called this a "rollback" and it's awesome with a coaster hub. A freecoaster opens up a whole world of tricks, I don't see any upside to running a cassette on a modern bike.
Good video Alfredo 🤘🤘
Got my 180s down but struggle with fakies, thanks for this
Learning to bmx with my son! This was a great explanation of a fundamental trick to bmx. Thanks! Going to practice a lot with him and get good at riding a bike!
My 180's are really good and my fakie is fine, but I just can't turn out of the fakie and im not sure why. Wish I learned the fakie properly before anything else.

Great video. Helped me understand better way to initiate the fakie
When coming out of the " fakie" I notice the resistance on my crank do to the " cassette" freewheel that I'm using. That " resistance" can be utilized into other moves instead of using a rear brake! I can push, and end up in a killer spinning manual! I can't wait to watch more of your videos. Wes Sept

Great video bro really appreciated had a question u think my Sunday bmx bike will get flats quick if I drive it in my back yard over small branches and in the grass I tried my road bike but it got flat super quick within one ride my subdivision is enforcing no bike riding in the subdivision due to covid 19
I have a criticism for this method (learned fakie and did these methods. Ask me questions if any of you need help.) So for the method of rolling up to a curb, the issue that I found is when you shift your weight to the front of the bike and off the frame, youre susceptible to letting your frame rock from one side to the other so my frame moved by itself to the left when i put all my weight to the front when coming up on the wall. My recommendation is to do the embankment technique or take this to the skatepark to a steep ramp and practice riding up and then rolling down to go backwards.
We hereee👊🙌👐

It’s a good skill to have ;)
I am used to faking slower (slow back pedal) to control my balance. But if Im doing fast 180s I can't back pedal fast. What can u recommend me to fix this problem.
Hey i have a quick question. I drive regular footed and spin to the right side like you. But if i try the 180 on the flatground i always do the roll out to my left side. It kind of feels a little bit unnatural. Any tips?
@AlfredoMancuso
4 жыл бұрын
In this sport, we call that an Indian Giver. You should always roll out in the same direction you first spun. To correct this, just lean in the direction you want to roll out in when you’re coming out of the fakie
Going back to this will help me, I'll tell you how the progress is going Edit: YO I ACTUALLY DID IT BRO
do i need more speed if everytime i do 180 i just stop and cant fakie like at all
Finally got a 360 bunny hop tail whip today so siked
