Before you start:
There's no other way to remove a forgotten passcode on an unavailable iPhone without factory reset.
Doing a full reset on a locked iPhone will erase all the content and settings on it, and also return your device to its defaults. After that, you can restore your previous data from a backup you've created in iCloud or your computer, and use your iPhone as usual.
To proceed with the reset on a locked unavailable iPhone:
If your iPhone is updated to iOS 15.2 or later, the Erase iPhone option on the unavailable lock screen will be the easiest way for you to reset your iPhone and create a new passcode. (You need to know your Apple ID password.)
No matter which iOS version your iPhone is using, you can use the unlocking tool iPhone Unlocker to reset your locked / unavailable / security lockout iPhone to factory default settings. No need to use any passcode or password, you can quickly unlock your iPhone and regain access after resetting.
When you have the Find My feature enabled on your locked iPhone previously, you can operate a remote reset using your iCloud. (This requires your Apple ID and password, too.)

Thank you so much! I was worried with the 15 minutes not being enough and kept doing step 1 and 2 again and it continues downloading from where it stopped when it was "time over". So just keep repeating those steps!

Hi, if you don't have a computer available, try to use your iPad and go to the icloud.com. Use your Apple ID and password to erase your iPhone remotely. This works when your iOS device has enabled the Find My feature previously.
