Oh what a wonderful video especially before the holidays with the In-laws - who already are angry that we are going to homeschool and ruin my son’s chances to get into university. Her advice is so gentle and kind.

This was nice and simple. I seem to be the black sheep of my family. Everything I do is different from what my family has done. There are times that I have to assess if the person asking the question is asking because they genuinely want to know or they just want to attack and make me look bad. Sadly, from a certain two people, it's the latter

Not everyone will agree with the choice to homeschool and that is ok, however unfortunately sometimes people are not able to express their disagreement in a kind way. Thank you for joining us!

To be honest, unless explicitly asked, I think it is very poor taste to express disagreement. Everyday I see people make decisions that I personally wouldn't make, but I also would not see it my place to voice my disagreement. @@SimplyCharlotteMason

I was a teacher for many years and it is definitely hard not to be in that compare contrast mode when I talk about homeschooling to family. I do believe homeschooling is generally a better choice than public school, but I try to word things in such a way as to say for my family even though I mean for all. I am fortunate thay no one in my family thinks I am ruining my kids by homeschooling them.

Thank you for this… I was hoping for some real definitions for like “living books”, “nature walks”, “hand crafts”… as someone who is new to the Charlotte Mason method and new at explaining it to other, that would have been very helpful❤

I love the insight of this video. Just curious what a good response would be to when others “quiz” your child on what they “should” know at their age. Any thoughts?
