I was wondering why are my back up lights not working? I replace the bulbs I replaced the switch or the transmission. Is it possible they could be turned off? Or is it possible that the cable has to be adjusted to hit the switch?

Hi when I access the mini cooper OBC it only shows L side of the tank to be filled entire tank while R side show 0.00 is this possible if thank is divided to two parts? When I fill it up and enter option 06 only L side is e.g. 36 L R is 0.00...is this ok?

you are probably hearing the turbo cooler that will run until it cools down after you shut the engine off.

I think I'm a bit late. The LEDs work in a closed loop if I can remember correctly. That means if one is dead non of them wil work. So you need to test one at a time. It will most probably be one in the door because there's more movement and vibration that can damage them through the years.

Hello, I purchased a paceman s 2015 about 4 months ago. How do I know if the service indicators are correct. I only noticed recently, when I first put the key fob in, start the car, it shows service with a -5000, but I don't recall seeing this when I first purchased the vehicle. I recently had an oil change and I am wondering if the tech set the service information incorrectly, or does the computer on the vehicle automatically reset itself? I did not get an owner's manual with the vehicle,but I downloaded one from online which is a countryman/paceman combo manual. Several features on the paceman are not in the manual, like do I have a factory alarm on the car. When I use the key fob to lock the car, I don't hear the little beep sound when most people hear when they remotely lock their vehicle, that's one thing. Another thing is there's like a little rectangular, red color, I think liight on top of the tachometer and I have no idea what its for, it doesn't light up and i'm not sure whether it is a light or not. There is also what appears to look like a camera lens on the backside of the rear view mirror but i'm not sure what it's for either, I thought maybe it was the garage door opener feature, but there are no buttons on the mirror anywhere to activate!!! , that's just a few of my unknowns, can you help?

A lot of cars don't make the cheep noise now when setting the alarm. So as not to disturb the neighbours. Doesn't really answer your question though

Only in hidden menu. When you turn the engine off and on again you need to access the hidden menu again to see coolant temp...

hii sir. i have aproblem with my mini cooper s 2012 r56 engine n18b16a..the computer shows " low pressure" . i replaced a new high pressure pump and its didn't work. what do you is the problem?

Maybe it's just the fuel pressure sensor on the fuel rail?

mr-fix same here. Low pressure light comes on sometimes. But only above 65 mph and in 6th gear. Any suggestions? Thanks :-)

Get a cheap Bluetooth obd2 adapter and use an android phone with the Touque app. It'll show you everything but oil pressures and it'll do fault codes and resets.

I did the exact same, but when I go to number 7 it takes back to the menu where you see the speedometer and outside temp etc

Hi, I am writing to you hoping to receive your precious help. I replaced the license plate lights (I have all led lights) with new ones, always led. Unfortunately the car had some sort of blockage of the control unit, and now the windows do not work, the direction arrows and the headlights remain on (even if off from the selector). Is there anything I can do with this procedure in the video, to fix the problem? (I changed the battery, but the problem remains). A greeting

the FRM (footwell module) is bricked, you can either repair or replace the module, very common on late 2000s BMWs, happened to me after the battery ran out

That looks like a R56 mini, not a Mk1?

I use a generic Bluetooth OBDii reader and the Torque application to monitor the engine temperature. It goes all over the place so that's why they don't put it on your dash.

How do I know when my 2015 paceman engine is warmed up and ready to roll. I keep letting it warm and I think it's ready but the cold engine icon appears

You can check in the hidden menu (or with a diagnostic interface) if your engine is warming up correctly. If you have a faulty thermostat your engine can never reach optimal temperature causing increased fuel consumption, premature engine wear and DPF clogging (if you have diesel engine).

Can this way unlock steering wheel? (Already locked with red sign 😢)

it looks like a faulty lock mechanism. hidden menu will not fix that.

Right now my brand pre-owned mini cooper 2011 is at the shop because of the thermostat housing :/ I thought it was weird the car didn't have the standard dashboard indicators, Is it true that those indicators, such as, CTMP are "dummies"??, I read that while I was looking for the info in your video.

You can purchase a bluetooth transmitter that connects to your phone to plug into your car via the auxillary port and there you have bluetooth.

What's the reason behind getting to the test menu? Can I program or anything from there?

+65streanbean this menu is designed mostly for diagnostic purposes. you can check and adjust momentary fuel economy, test all indicators and display, read values from many sensors around the car. If you don't have diagnostic interface this menu can be very useful.

mr-fix will I be able to see the engine code that it is throwing with the engine light on? Used to American cars where cycling the key will show the code. We don’t have a bmw or mini dealership near us so would like to see what the issue is.

I don't think so, but you can try with the CC-ID codes. It should give you a bit more info what's wrong with your car.

This is stupid, like no quick eyeball check for engine temp while driving??! Or oil temp?? What the hell.

And you can do what exactly? Pointless unless your a diagnostics expert.

I'll never fully understand their decision to hide the coolant temp from everyone.

At least have a gauge with cold and hot like domestics. No numbers just a gauge and an optimal zone so we know what's going on.

A friend of mine is a mini mechanic and works on some sort of professional mini racing team. He explained to me that because the temperature bounces around so wildly, a gauge would be useless. Support is the great unfunded liability. Everyone would bring their car in thinking something is wrong because their temperature keeps bouncing around from 210-255° Not worth the hassle. Solution is to not publish the values on the dash and have a warning symbol pop up if something is wrong. These engines run hotter to be more efficient and fluctuate between hot and cold depending on driving conditions. It's too much for the typical driver to keep track of.

@@onirrapdivad Thanks for that! That's one solution, but other manufacturers have different solution. For example my old Volvo kept the temperature needle in the middle of the gauge for a range of temperatures which are considered to be normal (something like 85 to 95). Going higher than 95 or lower than 8 would move the needle.

Well, it's a diagnostic menu. So you can perform diagnostic test of the instrument cluster, check if gauges work correctly, if all display pixels are fine, if gong and chime work. View some live data like coolant temperature, battery voltage. Also adjust estimated fuel consumption correction value so it matches real world numbers.

This is obsolete.
