All of these comments are stemming from a toxic tik tok that says she’s miserable with her life. If you haven’t listened to her podcast, you def should. It gives a whole different outlook on the situation.

I know right. But she goes out like every weekend with her friends or mini vacations but she doesn’t film it. I always see pics of her in a big friend group LOL or doing the coolest promotions...like that recent Levi jeans interview with Hailey Baldwin. Emma enjoys her alone time to re charge and doesn’t feel the need to show off all the cool things she does. I truly admire her for that lol. She’s her authentic self.

She's at work being her own boss doing something she is great at. It pays her bills and she can essentially do whatever she wants. I think most people would at least sometimes want more structure that comes with working with other people

i love how emma is just so authentic and honest about her life. she doesn't try to glamorize or romanticize her life for the aesthetic and i really respect that. it makes me feel like there is a much more personal (or maybe just honest?) relationship between her and the viewers. the best way i can describe the feeling i get from watching her videos is maybe "an escape to reality" if that makes any sense.

I didn't say that she's depressed, it's not my place to say, I just commented on one habit that she displayed in the video because the persone who said "this is the opposite of depression" not only showed ignorance on the theme (wich bothered me), but made an assumption on something so delicate just basing of a few habits and ignoring all the other things she said. My point wast that we can't diagnosr her because we're not with her 24/7, for a healthy habit that someone points out we can find an unhealthy one, it's wrong to say that she's depressed but also that she isn't. And also, if she does have depression (wich most likely she does, I think she said it hersel), reading comments where people say that you don't have it can be incredibly invaliditating

I don't think that the comment was being ignorant or invalidating, I think that the comment was encouraging the healthy behaviours she displayed in a response to a lot of people disacknowledged them, they weren't comment on what was going on outside of the video. Denying somebody's depression can be harmful but I don't think that this was the case, maybe OP didn't word themselves extensively enough.

dear people in the comments, please learn to express your worry about someone without diagnosing them - you have no idea how upsetting these comments might be for her, despite whether or not she's depressed. either way its none of your business!

wow I did not know everyone in the comment section are certified psychologists 🤠 coming from someone who's depressed the last thing u should do is be diagnosing someone in general but not to mention someone who is obviously already VERY self aware... not to mention Emma has ALREADY pointed out the fact that she's depressed in multiple videos so if u really think repeating that to her is going to create some crazy breakthrough you know less about mental health than u think. Even if people had a dumb PhD, it'd be still disrespectful and intrusive and just creepy to rant about someone else's inner life and issues. Emma seems very honest, but still she has a privacy as everyone. We have to stop conflating showing our lives on social media means showing all of our life because it's just not happening

Emma you should try doing a closet clean out video! Or you could do a video styling clothes in your closet that you have never worn/haven't worn in awhile. You could also make a vid about how you put together an outfit/what your thought process is. You could also make a video around what you'd wear for different occasions (grocery run, brunch, coffee date, movie date, going shopping, having a picnic, etc.). You could take that idea and make it more crazy/niche/specific (make an outfit for oddly specific events) like make an outfit for going to brunch with Harry styles, an outfit for the grocery store when you run into someone from high school, or for a party on a yacht with lizzo, or for visiting a castle, etc.

Whenever I watch Emma she just brightens my mood and makes me more self-aware!! i always watch her when i'm feeling lazy and I become more motivated to do stuff

I really love that she shows her difficulties with hygiene when dealing with depression or depression like feelings. I have gone through that but recently im just tired and want to sleep all day. Its weird its like something has been making everyone tired!

We are literally at a point where we can accept that one day, she'll make a video of herself sleeping for 20 minutes straight and we'll still be entertained by it.

I love some of themes/topics of this video, namely, boredom and misinformation. It reminds me of some other themes I have been exploring lately from other creators. There is nothing wrong with being bored and it is okay to be bored sometimes. Supposedly (maybe check my facts here :) ) boredom inspires people and kick starts their creativity. Next time you are feeling bored, let yourself be bored. Just take in the moment and actually observe what is going on around you. Don't immediately just a device and start scrolling mindlessly. I didn't get a smart phone until 2021 (I think it was sometime in March) and I only got it because it was actually starting to make tasks in my life harder without it for a number of reasons. I started finding myself picking up my phone in almost every situation when I was doing nothing. Even if I was just standing in line at a store for a minute. It hasn't even been a year and I already find myself reaching for my phone in almost every situation where I am not doing something where I used to have no problem just sitting with my thoughts. It is a little scary how fast that happened.

Emma uses her filming day as a reason to take care of herself which may be true for many KZreadrs but she shows us the full scope of what she looks like and feels like most of the time. We love her for it bc we can relate, on an emotional level we all can relate to not feeling as good as we would like to most of the time. I honestly hope that we all together can find the answer to feeling good and inspired and excited ab life more of the time. Not excited ab huge events just excited ab being alive and little stuff that makes us happy. It's possible, we can do it.

Speculating about depression isnt as bad as you may think it is. Everyone acts like it’s bad to speculate and diagnose, until the person loses it, had a mental breakdown or hurts themselves, THEN everyone will regret not speaking up. I’d give anything to have people ask me if I’m okay and try to make sure I’m not lying or something, that’s what the comments are, it’s not hate or accusations, it’s all love and support. The real issue is people hyping up this depressed behaviour and calling her a relatable queen that hasn’t changed due to LA, which is extremely toxic to say considering this behaviour isn’t healthy and now she might feel be reluctant to change because she doesn’t want to be told she’s changed or isn’t relatable anymore which has happened to her many times. That’s just my opinion. I’d be way more uncomfortable being boxed in as a relatable person for being bored, sad, alone and self deprecating than I would be if people were worried about my obvious mental health issues that I’ve been open about countless times.

I love how she doesn’t say ‘I’ve just been so busy’ she says ‘...I’ve been lazy.’

going to bed early is actually more of a sign of depression than going to bed late Although both are Especially sleeping a long time The average bedtime is 11PM, and 12:30 on weekends so it’s just concerning a bit

We’re not trying to hate on her for being alone, we are just concerned for the lack of care she has for herself. Cats often give more attention to people when they’re depressed. She says she was lazy “for some reason”, when she wouldn’t wash her hair or do her skincare When she was trying to get in the shower, she had to give herself a reason to stating it would be easier to stay in bed. She even said she did a good job, because she is finally taken care of herself. She may potentially get depressed when the weather changes, which is very normal it’s seasonal depression. This sponsorship was maybe the only reason she took care if herself that day, and that’s great! When she talks about shopping, (which is something she used to love) she is almost saying it makes her feel unfulfilled and guilty, which is a common symptom of depression, losing interest in things you usually love. It’s okay if you live the general life like this, especially in a pandemic, but it’s the underlying attitude that the concern is coming from
