My son goes to a special school and they were supposed to allocate a speech therapist but they struggled to find one. I tried finding private ones but there is a long waiting list. A whole year my son missed out of speech therapy at school and out of school. But now, this year, my sons school had finally found one but I am still waiting for other private ones (as an extra) so while I wait, I am trying to teach him from home as I am a teacher and I’m taking tips from you ❤

Also we try to employ person first language instead of “autistic person” we try to say “person with autism” it seems like a small change but it can mean a lot to some. Some may prefer identity first

She sings the songs from a play school and the ipad almost legibly.. some songs very legibly.. she repeats words clearly but very few words in a day.. says only few things she likes eg.. ice-cream, bubbles etc I like to know if she has any disorder or is it just her personality.. her speech therapist said she is too stubborn to speak and deliberately avoids people.. she is well aware of her surroundings and adjusts easily to the therapist or her play school..no tanturns but seems disinterested in engaging with others

Hi, im here because I need help and I think my niece is an autism child because he keeps on showing signs that he is. Searching about and helping him this way (help him learning in school) is all the best I can do as an aunt. So his condition in home: his mother keeps on punishing him everytime he is "not a good kid" or any unusual that kids do, ending up my niece has trauma to his mom. And to his father, he is working hard far from them and only have chance to get home once every 2months. And to explain, my niece's mother has no patience and love to his only child and their environment is really such a mess, such scumbags and very dirty with rude people around. Which leads us to see my niece hungry, undressed (sometimes dressed but very dirty) anywhere EARLY at the morning. We looked for his mother and his mother is no longer found in their area. So we decided to take my niece to his grandfather's house. (Father side of my niece). But since we take him, his mother shown only twice until today. Later we knew, that my niece's mother never sent my niece at Day Care Center in consideration of his age and condition. (HE REALLY NEED TO TEACH AND LEARN!!!) So as an aunt, I can't bare seeing my niece being left to other kids and he really needs understanding and love. This is all I can do, help him with his studies and understand his situation. As I found out-he has no interest in schooling, and he has late progression---his mind, his act even his attitude. That really makes me convinced he is an autism child. I admit, that sometimes when teaching him is very hard and will really left you with a few patience. But I love him and really wanted to help him. I am willing to know everything that can help my niece progression. I really need guidance. Thanks in advance ☺️
