Why is it when I Activate 4x4 the Steering becomes more rigid and tougher. And on sharp turns I get more of a Resistance and tire Screeching. I just turn it on the other day to lube up the Components.

Because you're only supposed to use it if you're on loose gravel or snow mud water anything other than hard gravel or the pavement or hard ground.

Got that smell thing from supreme suspensions got the same one

1:35 what about for a manual? I'm guessing shift into neutral...keep the clutch in or out while the transfer case is shifting?

I known it been 3 year's from the last comment. Can you go from 4l to 2h or do you have to go from 4l to 4h to 2h if that make sense

Hello. Can I start my Tacoma 2009 4\4 regular L then 3 then Drive meaning. Can I shift them while I’m driving

@@draculaS2k I think he’s asking if he can drive his tacoma like a manual transmission. Starting in Low and climb up the gears as he goes faster.

What happens if you go from 4 low to h2 without putting it back in drive first? Light blinks?

Light blinks and should make a beeping noise. Anytime you're trying or in 4l. You have to go in neutral

@@draculaS2k Yeah, I know but, the question was, about going straight from L4 To H2 (while in neutral) not stopping at H4 first and putting it in drive. I ask because sometimes i get stuck in L4 and can't get it out, and i was wondering if that's the reason why, because i think i was turning selector from L4 to 2h (while in neutral) and then putting it in Drive, only to have the 4x4 stay on, even after driving forward. I hope that makes sense. While in L4 i would stop, neutral, two clicks left into H2, put back into D.

Sorry for the time,before the swap. I could never go from 2whi to 4lo. I would have to go 4H on the Fly then stop neutral then 4L.

The 4x4 switch don’t have light ?

I’m sorry. Ok. Forget about shift from 4/4 Just regular shift. Can I start from 2L then 3 then regular drive. D. While driving or have to stop The truck n shift

You can leave it in drive if its a Auto. But yea you can use 2l - D some people do.

So what’s 2L and 3 for. ? Just a faster start or hills. I use 3 for hills sometimes if it’s ok. Then I can to D right. Sorry to bother. But thanks man. So what’s goes bad on Tacoma mostly. Since it’s very dependable? Lol

2l 3 4 are lower gears in the transmission. Toyota wants you to use them as towing gears. When my toyota was stock. I would just off road in D. The transmission knows what gear do you need to get up over something
