How To Endo: Front Wheel MTB Moves Explained

How to endo on a mountain bike - whether an XC, Enduro, Trials or any other sort of bike, this same technique can apply to your riding. In this video, I not only break down the individual moves to get you up onto your front wheel comfortably, but I will also give you some of the foundational insight on how this trick can help you riding steep downhill sections and gain more confidence overall on the bike.
In addition to the endo tutorial, I've also included a how to front pivot and stoppie - two tricks that stem from the endo.

Love endos! That happy place called the 'balance point' is hiding beyond that fear of falling off the bike. Same with wheelies and manuals. Overcoming that fear is what makes these tricks feel so good!

Just getting back into mtn biking after 7 years off, went with a RM Growler 50 hardtail. Discovered your channel through your GR Live interview and now hoping to - slooooowly - incorporate some of the basics (from this and your other vids) into trail riding. Thanks for putting these together!

A lot of the times my endos seem to rotate to my right side when I’m up. Is this because of my arm or leg position?

Guy. You should try and do this on a super steep downhill.

Do you change which foot you have forward depending on which direction you’re trying to front pivot?

Hmmm ...a pedalling endo would be a cool/useful way to change gear on a trail bike whilst in a trackstand!

As usual I want to add a detail. At least when you learn front pivot (at least it looks like that for me now) it's imprtant to start a moving rear wheel motion with you hips. They must go before or further than your rear wheel. That would let you keep a balance. If your rear wheel goes first most likely you would have to put your foot opposite to rotation side to the ground at the end of a move.
