How To Eliminate Short Strikes Striper Fishing

This simple upgrade can increase your catches significantly. I miss so many stripers from short strikes. I've tried using stinger hooks with treble hooks in the past but they tangle so easily with my other baits when I troll the Atlas Rigs. I landed way more fish on this slow cold and rainy day. With winter fast approaching the bite will slow down significantly and we'll see more fish short strike more often.

I think adding the stinger hook will get you a ticket for having more than 3 hooks on your a-rig.

Know your local regulations before trying this. At the lakes I fish, this is perfectly legal.

I've confirmed with DFG that the stinger hook added to the lure is considered 1 hook. So your method is safe to go. I'll be adding it to my umbrella rigs once the weather gets better.@@MengXyong
