I grew up so poor that my family actually lived off water and bread, and my family is so close because of it. I feel like an imposter when I have some money nowadays. I guess it’s important for survival but also not important at the same time because it taught me how to make do without.

What a thought. Reminds me of El Salto Nicaragua. A beautiful area far from the cities. Walking down the street there was (cordabas) money laying in the streets. Everywhere money. A poor peoples but poverty has nothing to do with lack of cash. Generations of people cash means nothing lest they work for it. It really affected how, I see things. Our currency is our soul and spirit. Blessing

God is so loving that He heals even if we don’t understand the mechanics of it. But this teaching shed light for me on some of the mechanics and it makes me in awe of God’s goodness even more! Your message of our birth makes us matter just made me leap for joy! It is another way to say we matter that is added to my heart. About twenty years ago, when I was in my early 30’s, I started reading The Scriptures from cover to cover and not just a verse here and a verse there. Ok the third round of reading through, I read “You shall love your neighbor as yourself”. I had read that many times in my life, but it took this long for it to hit me right at the center of my pain to start healing it. This verse says to me that there is no way to genuinely love someone else unless you properly love yourself. And since it is a command from God, it is important and we show we love Him by following this commandment. This verse hit me so hard at that moment and ever since because I was treated terribly growing up as well and taught that God wanted me to loathe myself to be acceptable to Him. This was drilled into my very being. I paid very dark and heavy prices for being brainwashed into having no dignity. The verse that says that I must love my neighbor as myself was the living bomb used to start breaking up the bondage of no self dignity. That moment of reading that scripture made me cry, made me livid that I had been lied to, and made me relieved for the very first time in my life that I mattered! Your teaching reaffirmed this truth from a different angle. Praise be to our God! The path to healing the brokenness takes time and is very painful. But as one goes along ones mourning turns to gladness. I say this from experience and not just because it was already said in Scripture. Your clear and gentle approach to show that self dignity is different that self egoism is so very important! I have seen too many times the pendulum swing from no self worth to super self worth from a self centered perspective. Both sides of that pendulum is still the same pendulum and leads to bondage. But who teaches the truth of what self dignity really is so that a person feels drawn to throw out that old pendulum that will never work?! Maybe there are many out there teaching it and I just missed them all. That is possible. Your teaching of this ‘sets His people free’ with His Truth. May God’s truth be spoken, understood, and followed to see the healing that is provided from His ways and wisdom!

Not just money, but virtue, too. My parents were elders in our church, my grandparents too. I suffered for so many years under their abuse. And had to smile 2-3x a week and confirm to the outside world that they were indeed great parents. I struggle so much with the concept of G-d because of this; for a long time so have no spirit or soul.

I hope this comment helps. Your foundational understanding and definition of God and May benefit from reexamination. When you shift from a belief that says God is all about judgement and punishment to considering his true nature and also seeing our parents as people in their own right and not just your parents it can open up exploration that promotes understanding and or acceptance which may be a key to unlocking a little more healing.

The problem with parents is that we carry them inside of us, both through nature and nurture, which is why it is so triggering to discover that their values do not correspond to ours. This causes us to break apart, which is what you might be experiencing now. You can build strength by deciding for yourself who you really are and how you want to live your life. You do have your own soul. Just allow it to express.

Sorry Rabbi. Been thinking all afternoon, linking concepts together and then a flash. At the moment we are like Jacob. We learn to hold ideas and concepts by forming brain connections. We look around and decide its time to be independent and incontrol. We arrogantly think we know best. We descend in awareness and project our truth onto the mind and the thought energy which accepts thought good or bad. It simply accepts the thoughts. Jacob reflects his ego and the germative layer reflects back. This is the layer that reflected Gods thought to a lower layer where it could be seen, analysed and captured as a memory of reality. Jacob finally realizes and thinks with a higher awarness which projects positive thought which manifests as spotted sheep. Jacob takes the created thoughts to God because Laban says that what is created on his level, belongs to him. Jacob took deceit to Laban. Laban had quite happily accepted good thought for his sister. Gold. So each mind has to give its work to the soul so that it can be harvested. Originally this was done collectively. Joseph is a focal point that collects and distributes collectively. Pharoah steals collectively. But the people get larger which means they have a larger mental capacity to hold awareness through Moses. So the world is enslaved but gaining in mental capacity to understand harder concepts. We are moving into another phase? Its interesting that Jacob can take everything back up to the higher level but after Laban blocks the way we cannot do that. Only the soul escapes.

Thank you from my heart, exactly the piece that I missed - self worth and confidence. And I was manipulated that these qualities are related to the ego. 🙏

This is gold. It is just sad that we filipinos cannot join the jewish religion. Thanks for the wisdom rabbi. Makes me want to visit israel in the future. It is good that we filipinos can go there without visa.

I definitely am going to have to surround myself with those whose empathy is as high as their intellect... So that i would be amongst those enflaming my benevolence instead of the temptations of my heartlessness.
