30G Hmm when did I say all cancer is man made?? Go back and point out in my comment where I said all cancer is man made. A lot of cancer is caused by man made things such as unhealthy or processed foods, cigarettes, etc. and tumors are also largely caused by man made things I didn’t state that all cancer is man made but all cancer, disease, natural disasters, are due to the fall of man into sin that also corrupted nature, etc.

Mary Dexter Yes. I used 1 cup each salt and baking soda and it depends on the size of the room if you’ll require this much. I ended up using a flea fogger (Raid brand) and flea bed/carpet spray from “Raid flea killer carpet and room spray” because the mixture wasn’t enough. It worked just fine. Good luck!

Msmystictraveler Yep that worked for me too but i used sodium bicarbonate *not* baking powder. I bought one of those big salt shakers with the handle on the side (that they use in fish and chip shops) mixed half and half salt and bicarb of soda. Vacuumed first then sprinked the salt/bicarb all over the carpets. Used a broom after to ensure it got down into the pile. Left it 24 hours and vacuumed. Fleas were gone. To make sure to kill any eggs that might hatch i repeated the process a week later

You have a better chance of chemically killing them. Tip. get dish soap, water and put it into a plate. (Put a lot of soap to make sure they die). Then, get a clear wattle bottle or cup and put it in the plate so the bottom faces up. Get a flashlight, and keep it over the cup. Wait 7-8 hours and see the results.

@@localwillow9948 Ive been doing the first part. I have water and dish soap in a tin pie crust pan. And i have a lamp right over it. It is working. But why a bottle or cup? Why the flashlight over the bottle? Why the bottlt or cup facing bottom side up? I know for sure an empty water bottle is not going to stand up in a plate of water. I'm asking because maybe I'm not doing it correctly. But what you're saying makes no sense to me. Thanks! I have 3 yorkies who go outside to do their business and they bring flees back inside the house.

They jump. I've found, that if you sprinkle salt on your carpet, fleas move up. Into furniture, a dogs back, coffee tables, they find ways to avoid the salt in open areas. It's still a good step to preventing fleas. But one must be more diverse if fleas are to be rid of.

We had them from a cat them kept coming into our house. Cut a long story short I went to war in them and won. Sent my son to the market to buy as many lemons as possible he brought three create fulls about 180 lemons. We squeezed the juice from each one, we kept the lemons and distributed the shells all over the house. Next went to the industrial wear house and brought 5 10lb bags of salt. Took all our clothes bagged them up in black bags and left them outside in the sun to boil heat kills them. Washed the floors with the lemon juice it was sticky, when it was dry we emptied the bags of salt out and swept it around the house, in our beds ( we slept on salt) rubbed it in every inch of the carpet with scrubbing brush to really in the fibres. All the curtains were bagged same as clothes in salt and dumped in the garden under the sun. We lived like this for 14 days and yay they were gone it was hard work and horrible to clean up salt everywhere but we did it. That cat is no longer allowed in the house and just to add I don’t have any pets never did have.

So in order to kill fleas in your house, you would need about 400-500 pounds of salt to cover the whole floor. You need to try the same experiment using just a minute amount of salt in the bag because that would actually mimic the amount of salt you would be sprinkling on your carpet.

Salt is particularly effective against flea larvae. Food Grade DE impacts all of the life stages of the flea. DE is very sharp and cuts the exoskeleton of these beasties. The ideal mix would be salt flour (very fine salt used for popcorn and such), baking soda, and food grade DE. This is particularly effective in carpets and rugs as it gets down deep into the carpet backing and pad. I just ordered some ALPINE WSG to spray the floors and the foundation of the house with. I intend to use this in combination with this three way mix on the carpets. The key is to vacuum every day or two after application of these treatments. The Alpine product is effective for 3 months, which is how long it takes to stop the life cycle of a flea population.

I had a horrid infestation and tried the diatamacious earth (food grade). It did work, was slower than the salt, but left all the filters in the vacuum absolutely a mess and they had to be meticulously cleaned after each use. They were HEPA filters, but still. Tried using an older vacuum with a bag instead of hepa filter, and it still clogged it up but not bad. The salt is better, since one of my sons has asthma. The salt works really well, and better on your vacuums. The only trick is to thoroughly (and I mean like OCD on a bad day) vacuum everything first to coax flea eggs to hatch. The salt really doesn't do much to them. You have to repeat every few days for a few months (sounds extreme but to kill the eggs, it is necessary) and then your problem will be gone (fingers cross). If you still have an issue after meticulously vacuuming, it could be a rodent under your house and that is the source of the infestation (I have no animals).

How long did it take you to eradicate them? I started noticing bites last week and thought they were just spider bites then thought bed bugs, every morning I would wake up with a new one. Then this weekend I wore long white socks and saw a big crawling on it, I swatted it but it jumped and I knew I had a flea problem. That day I spent 5-7 hrs cleaning our apartment, it’s not that big (1bd 1ba) but we have a lot of stuff and i guess the vibration irritated the fleas and they bit the crap outta me, I would sit on the sofa and I felt bites ALL over, what’s wierd is that my wife doesn’t have any and we don’t have pets lol. I went to Home Depot and bought the black flag spray, flea fogger, salt, and DE. I set the dawn soap with a LED night lamp in the living room and caught only 1 flea, I then bought the Terro trap and set it in the living room and I saw nothing, I put the water solution under light next to my bed stand and still nothing. The process of fogging was very tiring since we had to bag up a lot of stuff, we fogged the apartment yesterday and vacuumed but only saw 2 live fleas, but was still getting bites. I sprinkled salt all over the corners of the apartment and used DE (food grade) under the mattress frame, under the sofa, rug, and front and back porch door mat. This is going to be a long and hard battle as these pesky fuckers have many hiding spots. I bought ultracide aerosol can from a pest control compnat through Amazon, haven’t used in on the carpet just yet. Any other tips or tricks to get rid of these guys? I know pest control companies will spray your whole apartment and it’s expensive but it might only be for a short time before the fleas come back.

@@Jay_Rule Hi Jay. Thank you for the fast reply. As I love pets (which are always indoor cats since my dog passed), I have suffered with a flea infestation for almost 40 years. Yes, I control it, but as you know, it's a constant battle; I'm now a senior and am pretty darn tired. You may or may not know that fleas can become immune to certain treatments, and in my case, "my" fleas have become immune to all artificial flea-products, i.e. Advantage, Revolution, and even the most effective ingredient called Fipronil. I tried Fleabusters powder which worked great for about a month when there was no activity whatsoever, until it hardened and lost effectiveness. It contains sodium borate and an organic salt, so I have been looking into purchasing sodium borate, organic salt, and mixing it with baking soda which is an anti-caking agent. I have been told that actual Borax will deter them and they will go elsewhere. I see the vinegar making them run, only, which means I have to knock myself out for the rest of my life by spraying the solution to kill all hatched pupae. Your response, please?

@@Jay_Rule This was horrendous. These were not your average fleas but some sort of black fleas that live on wildlife. Along with them we ended up with what we thought were mites, that eventually we found were tiny bat ticks. We ended up burning the couch, threw out the carpet, moved most everything we owned into storage and hired an exterminator. We got rid of the fleas after about eight weeks, but we have never been completely able to get rid of the tiny ticks. They come in from outside and there's no way to rid the universe of bats.

A tip I haven't seen on any flea removal videos: If you see a flea on your socks or anywhere, grab a 1- or 2-inch piece of regular Scotch tape and cover the flea with it. Then pull the tape back a little bit and use another piece of tape to carefully trap the flea between the two pieces. Be careful -- it will try to jump out as you do this. If you catch it successfully, you can just throw it in the trash. However, I bought some stuff called WonderCide spray this evening (suggested on another flea removal video) and test-sprayed a section of baseboard next to where our cat likes to sleep. It was like the main hiding area for the fleas. That was five hours ago, and I've only seen one flea (on my sock, caught with tape, which is now in the trash bin). So once I spray kitty and the house tomorrow, think I'll be well on my way to winning this battle. By the way, I didn't see WonderCide at the big pet supply stores online in the Detroit, Michigan area, like Pet Supplies Plus, so you may need to go to Google and search "WonderCide where to buy" to find it at a ton of smaller pet supply stores. Wishing everyone success! THANK you, Jay, for your experiments! You are keeping me sane during this frustrating time trying to win the war against fleas!

I ended up removing all the carpet from my home and getting rid of all pets. Had no choice sadly. I went out and bought a few small plastic kiddie pools. Filled them up with soap and water. Not very far. I went to a pet store. In the reptile section. Bought several large basking heat light bulbs. Hung them from the ceiling right over the pools. The fleas are attracted to the heat of the light bulb. So when they go to it. They fall in the soap and water. It did raise the electric bill. But still cheaper than an exterminator. Over several months of that and continues sweeping and mopping my hard wood floors. Vacuuming my furniture and dusting and trying my best to keep everything clean. I've virtually gotten rid of them all.

I have also asked myself that question but I imagine if you make their surroundings toxic enough, it will eventually get into their food source and especially the eggs. The little bastuurds jumped right on and they thought they'd latched onto a cat, so they would stay on the slipper as I shuffled around . Then after a while I'd go outside and just shake them all off.( or pick them off) The cats were flea powdered and flea powder was applied around the edges of the walls also.
