Фильм және анимация

Elevate your photos by learning how to edit in a moody, dark tone, dramatic way! We’ll go over how to set up your camera for the best results as well as how to edit. You can edit this way using any pro level photo editor and even in some free ones. I’m using Lightroom in this tutorial. The goal of this editing style is to create drama by under exposing our mid tones and highlights and using a very minimal color palette.

Thank you.I honestly thought that this was a great tutorial! I've always just edited without any specific order and can find that method to be a little frustrating tbh. But even though I didn't do everything exactly to your style, I found your strategy very helpful. Moving forward I will follow this template for my edits. Thanks again! Probably one of the best most useful videos I've watched

Thanks for the kind words! You do what works for you. This is just how I wrap my mind around it.

Exposing to the left is wrong, because camera sensors have linear response to light. The only effect of exposing to the left is increasing quantization error by using fewer bits to represnt values (that introduces banding). You get exactly the same result in terms of tones (but with less noise and less banding) if you expose correctly and then pull down the exposure in post.

Howdy! Love this tutorial! Exactly what I was looking for. Do you have any tips if I were to use this method on a melanated skin tone? Many thanks!

Sure, make sure you’re not clipping in the highlights or lowlights when you’re out and shooting your image, You can always push those more in post. Depending on the undertones in the skin you may have to use some yellows and not just orange/red for skin tones as well. I tend to not reduce luminance. Thanks for the view. Glad it helped.

Haha. Yeah I need to learn how to end a video. That’s the part I don’t know much about.

What version of lightroom classic are you using? I am trying to follow your steps

I am using Lightroom CC in this tutorial. The tools are the same in Classic, however they are in different locations/tabs once you go into the Develop section.
