How to eat vegetables when you don't like them: healthy eating when you hate vegetables.
Vegetables are one of the rare foods that are universally recognized as healthy, no matter the diet. They have a vast amount of health benefits and should always have a spot on our plate. Problem is, a lot of people don’t actually enjoy them. They may hate the taste, the texture, or have no idea how to cook them. Thankfully, there are a few ways to still eat healthy when you don’t like vegetables.
First, make sure to get your FREE optimal Wellness and Nutrition Checklist! bit.ly/2JTb0wv
Wondering how to like vegetables? First of all, it’s important to remember that there are so many different vegetables out there- there’s probably one you like, or at the very least tolerate. Chances are you haven’t tried a lot of them for a long time and you’re just basing this off of distant childhood memories. Start by trying “commonly liked” vegetables such as carrots, green beans, cucumbers, broccoli, avocados, or tomatoes (yes the last ones are technically fruit but they are eaten as veggies), which aren’t as bitter. If you find a few vegetables that you do like, hold on to them and have them often! If you don’t, don’t give up on them just yet.

How have you not gained weight then? Do you not eat very often. When I hated vegetables, it caused me to be overweight from the unhealthy foods I ate.

@@summero-my5in i have always hated them and has always had kind of a basic diet, just without vegetables, so i won’t gain weight because of this because i’ve always been like this. And i also have a fast metabolism and would stay skinny even if i only ate junkfood for a month straight. 😅 but normally i eat regular food (not healthy or unhealthy), just because you don’t eat vegetables doesn’t mean you only eat junkfood.
I used to like vegetables but I had such bad junk food period when depressed that I started hating them. Trying to learn to like them again
A good tip for starting eating vegetables is peeling them like spaguetti, them you cook them on vapor, add some souce and its going to be really easier to eat them
this is going to sound weird, but everytime I eat vegetables I feel SUPER hungry afterwards, Same happens to me after I eat Apples, corn, yogurt, or tomatoes. Could that be something psychological or is it actually physical?

If you eat only vegetables/fruit it's normal because they aren't very satiating by themselves, try pairing them with proteins and grains!
I don’t understand it’s so difficult to eat vegetables, there’s not ONE veggie or fruit that I enjoy eating, even smelling it makes me gag and putting it in my mouth my stomach starts to feel uncomfortable
@danielabbott7774

I'm the exact same way. Any veg or fruit I try I gag. I can do corn and potatoes. I think it's a processed thing because I love the flavors of fruits like grape, but I can't eat an actual grape. However if I can tolerate onions ,even enjoy them , if they are cooked properly. Also small cooked pieces of peppers. Some fruits in pies also. So it seems I can't eat any unprocessed fruit or vegetable. Sorry for the long thing I just never heard from someone like me who gets almost sick from trying to eat fruit or veg.

I think it's because your body is too used to eating crap. If I go a long time without candy, I feel physically ill when I eat it (a lot of it) again, but if I gradually eat it my body doesn't reject it. You have to do the same with fruits and veg. What do you eat then btw? I can't even imagine lol

Every vegetable that's not a carrot, a cucumber or a potato makes me literally throw up. I can't help it. It's so frustrating because I want to be healthy and get thinner but there's no way. I despise the way my body looks and I feel bad every day.

@@rachi1435 hi💕I want to remind you that you’re beautiful, and that it’s okay to hate vegetables. Many people hate them. It’s also okay to feel a certain way about the way your body looks, but to remember to be gentle and patient through the process. Changing yourself takes strength and it’s not easy what you are doing. Remember that your body is worthy of love. your arms carry heavy things and hug those you love. Your legs walk you to your favorite places, your stomach holds delicious food. Your face lets you see, breathe, speak etc. Learn to speak kindly and be appreciative of what you CAN do, while acknowledging your desire to do more.💗💕don’t change to “become deserving”; change because you deserve it. @@rachi1435 you are so welcome!
You do such great pieces! You are absolutely right about trying different veggies and that every small substitution can make a difference. I did the blood work on someone sadly suffering from cancer and who never ate anything but meat and chipped potatoes. Worked with a Nutritionist such as yourself. Those small changes added up to a massive differences in blood work after three months. So much so that it encouraged him to keep doing a bit more! His readings at six months were great. And yes, he had surgery, chemo ... And survived. I have the bitter gene (I am a Biochemist so I was tested). I also have a health issue which makes veggies difficult. So, the things which work for me ..... A chicken sandwich? Add watercress and a couple of slices of sweet pepper instead of chutneys or dressings. Mushrooms, onion, carrots minced finely and added to beef or turkey for meatballs and served in a simple freshly made Marinara (tomato) sauce. Ratatouille, or vegetable and bean chilli, or vegetable, lentil, and chick peas curries .... Which I can have with a little rice and my friend is happy to have as a side for his steak or chicken. Homemade soups like Cock-a-Leekie (Scottish broth of chicken, leeks, a little barley, and herbs), Minestrone, Mulligatawny (British creamy soup with a curry base and either veggie or chicken) to which I add pureed peppers, onion, and courgette. Fish pie .... I add sweetcorn, peas, celery, green beans to the fish and cover with Bechamel sauce. My mashed potato is always "cut" with veggies ..... So potato, swede, carrot mashed ..... Or Colchannon - the wonderful Irish mash with cabbage and onion. mushrooms with my breakfast egg. However, no matter how I try, my little dog, Camille, sticks to her raw steak, cooked lamb, or scrambled egg and I cannot get any veggies into her!!!!

Thank you and thanks a lot for sharing all of these tips, super helpful! I'm glad you found something that works for you! PS love the name Camille haha
I have the double whammy. If I don't mind the taste, I don't like the texture. If the texture doesn't bother me, I don't like the taste. At 53 years old, there aren't many vegetables I haven't tried. I have no answers.
I just put all my vegetables in a blender raw with lemon juice and the lemon juice masks the taste of the vegetables making it all taste like lemon. This is the only way I can eat raw vegetables and the fact that I'm blending it I'm absorbing 5X the amount of nutrients than eating it whole.
veggies i know i like: spinach lettuce sweet potato veggies i can stand: potatoes avocado veggies i know i don't like: carrots asparagus brussels sprouts onions veggies i haven't tried yet (or don't remember trying): cauliflower broccoli beets tomatoes cucumbers zucchini green beans peppers (the list goes on...) thanks for this video! i thought healthy eating would be difficult (I've been an overweight girl for 7 years) but it helps to know what i like and some im willing to try. hope i can disguise them and find what works!
This was very informative. Thank you
I don't hate them. They hate me. Migraines, stomach pain, sickness, sleeplessness. I've avoided them most of my life. I'm now 68 and pretty healthy ( never smoked or drank)
Smoothie is a great way to go

Do you have a video on how to find good quality vegetables and what to look/smell for? After I found my fiance, he showed me how to find fresh and good tomatoes. I thought I didn't like tomatos other than the cherry kind. But I was very wrong.
Can you make recipe videos? I am a horrible cook so unless I have a recipe, I always mess it up.

is it just me that I hate vegetables 1 time I ate cucumber aka pickles IDC i hated them ew it was disgusting ew I can still taste it
I like Carrots and i dip then in Peanut butter
Anyone who only eats potatoes 🥔🥔😂😂
Even through I tried to add some noodles and everything I still hate it LOL
I understand people possibly having genetic/cultural predispositions to disliking certain vegetables, but when people flat out exclaim their dislike for all vegetables, or worst yet, their unshakable disdain of water.. lol ugh what? Personally, I find myself at a major loss of words, but I digress. I LOVE veggies and I LOVE water, two personal affinities that I used to think were just components of being a human being on Earth lol but apparently most of my fellow Americans don't see it the same way. Thankyou for the service that you've undertaken by educating the world on whats important; have a good day, stay healthy, and happy eating! 🙃🥑👽🙂

@@Edukalebylucie Well, while I do understand that, science is such a contriversial contradictory thing, thst it is not the ONLY absolute guide. And it often takes a lot of time for science to catch up with how the world truly works. Let's just say that many things have not YET been backed up or proven by science. The key word here being 'YET'. For different reasons. 🙂
