How to eat the best BBQ in central California while catching a huge bass at sunset.

On this week's episode, we head to one of the most beautiful and underrated lake and campground in Central California, Lake Cachuma.
Nestled in the scenic valley of the Santa Ynez, Lake Cachuma is a shimmering oasis that beckons nature lovers and adventurers alike. This idyllic reservoir, cradled within the Los Padres National Forest, offers a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, just a short drive from Santa Barbara.
The campground on the lake is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a rustic retreat where you can reconnect with nature. Imagine waking up to the gentle lapping of waves against the shore and the chorus of songbirds heralding a new day. The campground features spacious sites perfect for tents and RVs alike, many with breathtaking views of the lake. By day, explore miles of hiking trails that meander through oak woodlands and golden grasslands. By night, gather around the campfire, roasting marshmallows under a canopy of stars, unblemished by city lights.
We also hang out with Dustin, one of the owner's of Hook'd restuarant. A culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience right on the lake. With panoramic views, Hook'd serves up a delectable array of dishes, each crafted with the freshest local ingredients. Savor the catch of the day, perfectly grilled and seasoned, or indulge in a juicy, gourmet burger. Pair your meal with a crisp, locally sourced wine or local micro-brew beer, all while soaking in the stunning sunset that paints the sky in hues of pink and gold.
Whether you're casting a line in hopes of catching a bass, kayaking across the serene expanse, or simply lounging on the shore with a good book, Lake Cachuma offers a slice of paradise for every visitor. Its natural beauty, coupled with the welcoming ambiance of the campground and the exquisite fare at Hook'd, makes Lake Cachuma a must-visit destination for those seeking both adventure and tranquility.

Yes, there are bears in Santa Ynez, California, especially in the Santa Cruz and upper Santa Ynez drainage, the Santa Barbara District, and the Sisquoc River area of the Santa Lucia District
