Love your approach. "The leftover fabric I have isn't long enough, oh well I'll just piece it." Most people sweat the small stuff.

Welting is also known as piping. I did my boat seats a few years ago and used a plastic welting in the event it got wet. Great job, love watching.

I've noticed when you make patterns, you don't seem to leave a seam allowance? I'm new to upholstery. Just wanted to know what the deal is. Or maybe you do but I can't pick it up on video. Love the videos

  • @oldschoolautoupholstery

Hello Kentucky, In the video, I drew around the outside perimeter of the cushion. That would naturally include the seam allowance. The skirt, I added 1 inch to the width that I had to trim off after it was stapled on. If you follow my instruction, you will get the same result. Just like a recipe for making a chocolate cake, you'll get a chocolate cake. Please keep liking and watching!

Another cool video. I have to do RV dinette cusions soon. & Blackout curtains fir RV windshield. I never know what fabric to use. Or how to get new foam cushions firmness figured out. Is there a store you recommend for foam & fabric? Also what size staples were you using? Love your vids sir!

Hello Mud, Thank you so much for saying so. I get my materials from Keyston Bros. There are locations across the USA and they ship. They can also explain low density to high density and firmness. I use T50 staples from Lowes on my cheapo Harbor Freight staple gun. Please keep liking and watching!
