Good lesson. So Triple step east coast swing is counted as 6 beat dance "one and two, three and four, five and six ( rock step). The Single count east coast swing is a 3 beat dance and counted this way " one, two, and-three (rock step) or is it a four beat dance, counted as one, two, three, four (rock step)?

The single step swing is still to 4 beat music and the basic pattern is still done in 6 beats. So in that aspect both are the same. If you were to count when you shift your weight it would be 1,3,5,6 which means you are pausing on the other beats. I prefer single step swing when the music seems to fast to do a triple step, I'm tired or what a change :-).

What is the Basic difference between east coast and west coast swing dancing?
