Kees had broken his own windscreen so today we had to replace it. We thought it might be a good idea to show you guys the process. The video has a slightly different setup as usual so I hope you guys like it!

Loved the 'enter car through windshield (mandatory)' part LOL. Got my thumbs up just for that line

Tip from experience roll ur windows down !!!! If u close the door with all the windows closed there is a possibility the the pressure build up will cause the windshield to actually pop out

That makes no sense. You must’ve just installed it wrong. No car is pressure sealed like a plane is.

Always make sure to follow all the instructions! Last time I forgot to enter the car through the windshield and the brand new windshield fell off of the car the next day!

Just wanna say that I'd bee on disability if I used a manual caulking gun! With around 800 windscreen replacements per year my best friend in the world is my Milwaukee M12 caulking gun! And a long blade for those parts where the window knife, or pull knife as we call it here is usually faster than a wire, unless you have a car, like some Skodas and Wolkswagens where the knife just won't fit then I use an Aegis Solo Cut 2 composite wire cutter. But those are personal preferences! All in all a very good video, and I snorted out loud about the mandatory "enter trough windshield"

My old 1999 Ford Taurus wagon I will attempt this because no one want to work with a salvage windshield. Window installers can’t find new windshield. Wish me luck.

When you said you "mask off the area" is it absolutely needed? As in if, later the material was snagged out on accident by say... a sun visor... Would it cause a leak with its absence? Asking for a friend...lol

Not really, the tools and glass cost for doing a job like this one will cost you just as much if not more than just to get it done professionally. It only takes us around 40 minutes to do a job like this and then the windshield has to sit for 30 mins before drive away. Most people have insurance for this stuff anyway.

@@TheSevenSoulsofManUnless, like me, you had the tools to cut the windows for years (stripped & scraped plenty of cars & also taken a few windows out in junkyards). You can get them for less than $10 at Harbor Freight. Bought a long knife for less than $20. I had a good windshield I cut out of another car years ago. For popular cars you can also get windows/windshields from restoration parts suppliers. Who doesn't own a chalk gun?!
