Can the yellow wire be connected to any other fuse? If you buy right-angled cables for connecting the internal and back camera, they not only make a better cable management but also come with bigger heads such that the protector bracket can lock it like the USB plug. I prefer to keep the OBD connector free as now and then I connect my Bluetooth OBD2 to collect the driving data.

So when not using this HK3-harness the Viofo cams usually switch to parking-mode (when activated in the Viofo-app) after 5min. With HK3 on the other hand the cameras switch to parking-mode immediately which is, on the input-side of the HK3, done by detecting if the ACC-wire has 12V yes or no. When yes, then camera goes into standard recording mode, when no, camera goes into parking-mode. BUT: the camera is sitting on the output-side of the HK3, which means on the 5V-side. And the 5V do not change whatever happens on the 12V input-side of the HK3 and there on the input/ACC-wire(s). So how does the camera get to know that ACC-wire is 12V or not? There must be some signal generated in that little box in HK3-harness which is then send into the camera via the usb-power-plug and which somehow tells the camera to switch to parking-mode. Do you know which wire/contact of the usb-plug is carrying this signal and what this signal looks like? Is this maybe simply done by one contact in the usb-connection switched to active (5V) or non active? Any ideas about that?

Hi there, I think you still need the hardwire kit. First you need to enable the parking mode from the dash cam. You need to experiment with your unit. The duration how long to record each video while in parking mode. How sensitive is the dash cam to respond to motion. The hardwire helps the dash cam to switch power from cam battery while the vehicle is running to alternative power supply. Be sure the battery is properly insulated to heat. Keep a power bank inside a car can lead to fire hazard.

Does your hardwire allowed to use 12.4V? Check your recording setting if it is too sensitive. You can tell by watching a few of the recording during when you are away. Does all the shadows triggered the dash cam? Try reduce its sensitivities.

Dash cam that send notification required 4G connection. Thinkware have a few model that comes with 4G connection. It required a SIM card to be installed as well. Try Google for dash came with 4G connection. Normally budget dashcam does not have this feature. You might even need a backup battery for dash cam in order to maintained connection. The best is to install a GPS tracker to your own vehicle. Dashcam can be removed easily.
