I fell the other day and barely hit my head because of my cap and hoodie. And one year ago I fell very hard and practically ripped my knee skin off and got several bruises here and there all over my body, that one was so bad that a dermatologist practically had to took the burnt skin off [due to concrete contact] and stitch it back and even so, still pinches some days. I totally agree with this video and the one with the 10 tips you made before. If you’re beginner rider, you’ll fall If you’re experienced rider, you’ll fall

Riding slower than you can run is probably the best advice. Without a helmet, imo you have to ride slower than you can run. If you cant run out a crash, and your not wearing a helmet, you are trusting so many other people with your life. If the board malfunctions, or a car does something dumb, that could be it.

That's why I never go past 12mph anywhere. I bought my eBoard to commute, not to stunt. 12mph is much faster than walking and about the same as an easy bike ride without any effort

Was going about 20-25mph on my board, the road immediately became uneven/dipped and it was completely subtle/invisible to the eye. Board wobbled, couldn't gain control and I got thrown back HARD landing on my tail bone and sliding on the right side of my body. I always wear my helmet, but I almost didn't wear my knee/elbow pads. Even with the pads my forearm/elbow was bruised for 2 weeks. My lower back had a massive 7 inch circumference "raspberry", tailbone hurt for a month, fingers were torn up a bit (gloves you're wearing saved me). I was wearing my predator helm and had several deep rocky gashes going from the back-top of my helmet down to the front right side jaw of the helmet... if I wasn't wearing my helmet, it would have been a bad hospital visit and facial scars. Right after I invested in Lazy Rolling gear and never went out without full protection ever again. Good video, cheers!

If you're not wearing a helmet because of how lame a lot of them look I'd recommend investing in a helmet you like the look of OR customizing it to make it your own. Slap some stickers on it, draw all over it. Make your helmet something you like to wear and not forced to wear. It makes a huge difference.

After falling hard due to the verreal RS pneumatic tire failure.... I got an MRI and it found brain bleeds around the area I hit. I also got a weird and big scar on my eyebrow that instantly changed my identity. If I wasn't wearing a full helm and padding I have no idea what would have happened. I believe I suffer side effects from a brain injury from the esk8 fall. Sucks that it was not my fault at all and the dude that runs verreal lack of testing. But I will definitely stick to carving and shorter rides now. Perfect for my atlas at least haha

The closing song was pure gold! 😂 Another tip, never go fast on roads you don’t know, even if it’s just the other side of the same road you ride daily. I happened to crash in a pot hole in the middle of the road on a street next to my apartment doing around 25 kmph. It was summer, I had no protection on me, but my helmet and decided to take a wide line through an intersection corner as there were no cars around and I wanted to exit the corner on the other side of the road in an effort to turn left on the next intersection. What a bad idea! Got me some nice road rash on the ribcage and an injured shoulder, I have not investigated further as it’s 90% functional. 😂 Stay safe folks!

I wiped today at 50 kmph or 30mph off roading passing a car with no protective gear and well everything hurts and I cannot move my arm by much I don't have anything broken though so I lucked out but my head was pretty puch under his car so if he hadn't breaked as hard as he did I'd be ☠ ☠ and I was a Careful rider until I switched my 90mm wheeles to 175 I got to comfortable going fast offroading .What I got out of it is that it only takes one rash decision to whipe even though I was going 25kmph max everyday for a past month.

Helmets are OK, but if there's one part of your body that will get injured in case of falls AT ANY SPEED are your hands. Its cos we still subconsciously look at eboarding as if its push boarding. unless youre on the ramps, you never really wear a lid for your penny board or your normal skateboard. I was skating round a park in the evening at night time and took a tumble. cracked the back of my head on the concrete BUT was wearing a lid. would have been real bad if I hadnt. i just think of that when I think of going anywhere without one.

I didn’t get brain damage, it was a miracle and I didn’t die, maybe due to the mips technology flexing and not letting my aorta get completely dissected. Been doing this for 50 years, Wear a helmet!

When it comes to music, I'd argue that the safest solution is to play music from a speaker while riding. Not only can you still hear your surroundings but people will hear you and know you're coming. This minimizes the risk that someone will turn into you when you're overtaking them. But if course ppl get butt hurt cuz you're blasting music on the streets but who cares?

just bought a better and lighter helmet today, already hit 100km as a first time e-longboarder. i had several close encounters but fortunately i have'nt been injured yet. none of them were my fault or lack of skills. dogs hate longboards and will run after you and cross your way. cars are the kings of the road and don't give a shit about you. topping at 30km/h and never on wet ground. I'm confident enough to do short rides with no helmet, mostly for chores, but there's barely any traffic here at my town and I cruise at 10km max. also check your gear periodically.

I never wear a helmet, I never go above 25 km/h and just ride alone on the bicycle paths trough the woods here. And it gives you a false feeling if security, cause your helmet doesn't help even a little bit of you crash into somehing with 40km/h. A proper motorcycle helmet protects from an impact up to 30km/h. What do you think a plastic skate helmet does? You feel safe when you are not. But I use the Meepo maybe 10 to 20 times a year in the summer or on holiday. If you commute daily through the city wear a helmet but not the plastic skate helmets get yourself a proper motorbike helmet.

Decent helmets are 300ish, jacket is 300ish pants are 200ish. If you want extra things like airbags in your jacket or higher end brand and stuff it adds up to 2.5kish.

Start off by apologizing for the length. To all the folks out there Please, please, please wear a helmet especially E-Skating. Its not like "real skatin". One rule of skating is everybody fallls, doesnt matter who good you are. The sustained speed of E-skating makes injury inevitable when not wearing a helmet and the injuries are often catastrophic. Way worse than anyone at a skate park or downhill skating will experience. The serious problem I have with your first rule is people dont understand the risks especially they are newbies and they cant understand what they dont yet.....understand. Most people who start E-skating have little to no actual skating ability or skill and will start later in life . I started E-skating 3 years ago, downhill 6 years a go , 3 year ago. Ive been skating ever since 1984. All that to say that there is a right way to fall in skating and there is a wrong way. Lots of falling while getting descent at skating teaches you how to tuck, roll, fall correctly and even train you to see and read the road ahead at slower speeds. Too many people who E-board but didn't skate have zero survival skills when they get in sticky situations and often panic or even freeze like a deer int he headlights. I will say lastly to avoid the wheels you see in this video like grim death. Like the kind you see on the Exeway or Backfire. They will easily slip and slide on the road, a pebbble or a rock can send you flying Those wheels are especially bad at the corners of cross walks with the yellow bumps that are for the blind. They are slicker than snot on those kinds of wheels. Better bet is the cloud wheels or the big rubber wheels you see on the Onsra Black Carve 2 and 3. Highly recommend a full face helmet wile E-boarding. Be safe out there

Plus it doesnt take much speed to hit the head hard esp offa sharp curb edges. AGATT is the only way. But I get it. Your body your choice. Nuff said

today I fell on my head for the first time while skating, I slipped out after ollieing onto a small manny pad. it was totally unexpected and I wouldnt recommend it ... starting tomorrow I'll be wearing a helmet. its just not worth it ... its got nothing to do with skill, speed or height of obstacle. I slipped out, lost control completely and fell backwards, my head hit the ground and I am lucky that nothing much happened.

This is a really important topic that I’ve thought about a lot. Meepo even claims that your risking your life when you ride one of their boards. There’s three things that I’d add to this though. Bend your knees and lean back. If your knees aren’t bent enough you won’t be able to land on your feet, rather your head. And if your leaning back your body has more time to adjust itself when your being thrusted forwards. (Only do this to prepare yourself don’t always ride like this) Know/study the route your taking to find out where the cracks in the road are, where the cars come from, or any other dangerous obstacles like gravel. Always plan out a route when going through a populated or risky area, and if it’s too risky- just pick up your board and walk through it.

wear proper shoes guys! shoes with a flat-base are the best because you get to feel the board more than when wearing runnign shoes with a big base. I'm kind of surprised this wasn't mentioned in the video and that OP wears running shoes.

I really don't understand why people ride without a helmet. Really, why? I can only think of 3 reasons: they don't have a helmet, too lazy to put one on, afraid of not looking cool, it's too hot. To all of these, I say: go buy one, it takes about 5 seconds to put one on, when was the last time you looked at a cyclist, dirt bike rider, skateboarder, motorcycle rider and think that they looked weird? No one really judge you because you're wearing a helmet because who cares? So then why should you care about it while risking a head injury? The being too hot one is the only one that is a valid reason, but even then if it's hot due to it being sunny, then wearing a helmet should help protect your scalp a bit from the sun. If it's hot due to humidity then yeah that sucks but it's a trade off between this and not being able to think properly should you have a bad fall. Still, it's usually pretty cool out when I go ride with my group and so many people don't wear helmets.

I thought our hearts were the most important part of our bodies? Lol. Jks aside, I’ve been boarding for about a year now and had no previous experience before. I’ve adapted very well but haven’t bailed hard yet. I mean, I’ve fallen but haven’t ate it, rolled, skid out, knocked my noggin yet. I don’t t wanna wait until I crash hard before I start wearing a helmet so it will be my first purchase before riding this spring/summer season in Canada. Also, my Atlas pro goes up to 50kmph so I’m not playing that game, I’ll def lose. Be safe out there Esk8er’s 🙏🏿💙

So im totally retarded. 😂 No helmet, sometimes just knee pads, loud music, full speed, riding in wet conditions... All wrong with me. I had a lot of bails, sometimes at full speed. But dont try this like me, im riding like this for years and i learned how to fall.
