Thank you. Our trapping season took a hit with this 9 inches of snow. Everything is buried but hopefully we will get up and going next week.

I keep mine year to year, just make sure you use a good sealing lid. If you go slightly heavy on the fuel it will dry quicker and still cover well. Brown is my color of choice because I dip everything except my k9 sets, even body grip traps ( never had a problem setting a body grip using speed dip and that includes my 330 belisles) No need to dip the earth anchors since they are in the ground. My k9 sets get the traditional dye and wax. I run Bridger #2 offsets, MB550’s and just started with the Duke 550. That Duke is a rock solid trap on par with the MB at 40 dollars less a dozen. I take them out of the box, clean, treat and set not had to adjust them yet and I’m running 3 dozen. I personally prefer vinegar over muriatic acid as a cleaner, not as fast but it works without the risk of damage to the springs. The vinegar straight will strip the speed dip if you ever need to.

You can store dip from year to year. Coleman or high octane lasts a long time. I leave it in the same bucket. When necessary, I've disposed of it like you did.

Been getting pairs of coyotes since early December as well. Honestly, we are running traps that we dyed three years ago and haven’t redone them yet. Probably going to clean and dye them after this season closes.

That pretty cool that the dye has lasted this long. I only have half of my traps out now. This snow really held me up. Looks like you guys have done good so far. Good luck to you this season

@@pineylife thanks brother, you too! This weather has really slowed us down this week. Pulled or tripped most of them, but did do a couple snow hole sets that I watched a guy I know do for wolves in Montana…. My biggest issue is a red fox that keeps digging the traps out. Had this issue for years, and I put a trail camera over my traps. This fox can actually dig the trap out, and it will be laying outside the hole untripped. They are such cunning and precise diggers that they are frustrating and amazing at the same time!

I used speed dip for the first time last week. has been low humidity. they are still tacky/sticky. not too bad but thought would have been better. have any feedback about that or experience with it?

I usually let them set a couple of weeks and I have noticed they dry a lot better during the summer. Now I waited to late to do mine this year and only give them a week or so and they was still tacky to the touch. But they worked great for me. I think a lot of it has to do with the amount of rust that’s on them.
