I used dishwasher soap with bleach my denim jacket because I didn’t have bleach on hand, and it worked excellently. Just put a full bottle of dishwasher liquid in a container, with approx a tea pitcher of hot water and let sit in the sun for about three hours, moving around with gloved hand ever 1/2 hour to one hour. Rinse very very well in hot water and then cold and machine wash. Perfect.

Yay! The best part about denim is how resilient it is, we can keep crafting it when it needs a facelift. And ifthe fit it great, we can just customize it, let me know how it turns out

Alli I am enjoyong your new and older craft videos. Have you ever tried this cake stand craft? Buy a pretty wine goblet at Goodwill. Turn it upside down.Also buy a pretty plate.Use glass glue to attach the plate to the bottom of the goblet. Voila! I hope I explained it well but I think you get the idea. I have been watching Ralli Roots for several years. I am not a reseller. You and Ryan are a great looking couple!

AHhh so true! The camera memory card was full! Wah, so I just sprayed it like my last shirt. It also took 5 hours to lighten.....super weird. I think the battery wouldn't have survived it. Thanks for being awesome! Starting a youtube channel takes some dedication. Not enough hours in the day

question.... how come your tag didn't turn blue? every time i dye anything even the tags changes tone...

Great Video! also the previous how to distress a T-shirt video. How about a how to distress jeans video? ya know, if you're into that kind of thing..LOL. Found you via your and ryan's Rallie Roots channel, I've been watching you guys for about a month, been ebaying 2-3 months. How did u keep the color from staining other parts thats not blue?

I know! I ran out of space on the memory card and the bleach took hours to lighten. If we dyed something for reselling it, I suppose it would only be fair to disclose that. Although if we just re-dyed black denim black again, I don't know if we would but probably would put it in the description? What would you do? Maybe putting custom dyed somewhere so it sounded fancy :P

how comes it did not coloured the little red LEVIS thing near the pocket?

l loved the blue. I'm 80"s! lol

Haha, Ryans brother loved it too. That blue isn't me, I kind of wished I made it crazy colored but there's always next time. OI could wear it a few times and then change it up, that denim is resilient.

I definitely want to tie dye some clothing item but I'm terrible at tie dye lol

I have an old denim jacket that I want to give new life with this method, but it has a huge custom art piece on the back that was painted on with acrylic paint. Do you think the dye will ruin the artwork?

Hey Alli, MORE AWESOMENESS!! Just wondering about the "spraying the bleach" Is it pure bleach?? 1 to 1 ratio?? After u spray it & it lightens, do u wash it again to neutralize it?? Thxs U ROCK!! 🤗

I try to always do a 1 to 1 ratio just in case it sits a little to long, good point. I definitely should have mentioned that! And definitely wash it after to neutralize it

Hey Neville, I'll be doing loads of other crafts soon. We're just trying to balance work and life lol. Editing takes me a long time so for the sake of a quality video while I get accustomed to the new tech, I'm making a bit simpler videos before the cool complicated ones. But hopefully I'll get around to making a address planter in the next few months.

I honestly dont think thats very possible because dye is liquid and will soak through all of the fabric even if its not submerged but if a gel exists then potentially it's a possibility. But I'm no dye expert so maybe someone out there has discovered a way

Alli Crafts what if I covered the sharpa or will it still dye it threw the jacket? 😭 I wanted to use it for a cosplay and at my job we only have one and it’s a light blue and it needs to be a dark blue... I wonder if I just dirty my jacket for the cosplay it will be enough 🤔

@@Glennsgreenballoons Actually, have you considered fabric paint? If its a light blue and you want it to be a dark blue, I think fabric paint would be pretty successful. It just has to be painted on in thin layers so the fabric doesn't become hard
