@@robertbob-manuel6327 Linux is better for coding, but lacks compatibility with a lot of windows programs, namely videogames. So if you want to play games on a Linux laptop you may have to jump through some obnoxious hoops, and some games may not even run. But with dual booting you can use Linux for coding, windows for leisure and it's a goated set up

@@yeezybreezy9350 Eh, wouldn't undermine the amount of games Linux still supports, even if Windows supports much more - you can play quite a number of games on Linux technically speaking. Also, Linux is also good for leisure and everyday usage too, it's just Windows can do more things and can run professional programs that Linux doesnt support as of yet. Plus it's propietary software like Office has more features than Libre, though many people dont strictly need those added features either.
THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH! I have been trying to install Ubuntu or Zorin, and I watched about 7 videos, but they were not clear... Then i came across yours, and it......... WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot thank you enough! Best youtuber ever!

Thanks, nicely done. What does the Install along Windows do differently than what you did manually, relative to partitions and selecting the boot loader partition. I'm wondering if I can make the drive space (shrink), and then let the ubuntu install wizard take care of the manual steps.
I appreciate the video, I followed each steps and both OS are working properly.

@@SavvyNik I'm posting this reply from within the linux OS in fact. It's very snappy. The only thing I miss from Windows is a lot of the apps that I found indispensable and not available for Linux...at least yet. I'm scouring the Linux app store and doing Google searches for alternatives. :-( All I need now is an effective and ESPECIALLY "easy to use" dual boot software.... because the swapping between Win & Linux is a bit of a pain. I have to keep pressing the F12 key repeatedly to bring up the boot order menu on my Lenovo desktop. I tried Refind and another one (forget the name) that claimed to have a easy to follow GUI interface with no success. Thanks again for your very detailed tutorial. PS. I miss just pressing the win & period keys on windows to bring up the emojis. Apparently, it doesn't work on Linux. :-(

Just make sure you keep making your videos as clear like this. Most especially the commentary. Especially the commentary and explaining why we select certain options.
I usually don't comment, but your tutorial is working perfectly. Thanks dude.
Thank you so much for this amazing explanation!, you did not hesitate to explain the something else option, which many others did not explain. Keep going like that, you earning is well deserved.

hey ,which linux flavour is suitable for data engineer?
Works like a charm, you got my sub.
Excellent! At around 11:53, I decided to explore installing Ubuntu on my 12-year-old Mac since the current macOS on my machine is outdated. While I aim to keep macOS for specific purposes, I partitioned the SSD in macOS and encountered some challenges recognizing the partition in the Ubuntu installer. Disappointingly, the disk selection stage in the Ubuntu installer seemed cumbersome with its greyed-out checkboxes, lacking informative metadata for decision-making, and an absence of a help button. Compared to Apple’s user-centric design, this stage in Ubuntu’s installer appears less intuitive.
As an Admin Sys Windows who is learning to use Linux (and needs Ubuntu for Cisco training) Thank you very much for your video which is very clear (especially the Ubuntu Disk part 🙏)

If anyone gets the error "No EFI System Partition was found" when trying to install, you have to first allocate a small portion (256MB) for the EFI. Just add it before making the big partition at 10:55. Make sure to select EFI as the mounting point for the small partition. Then create the big on like in the video with the remaining space, and the install should work just fine.
I can heartly recommend refind for uefi machines as a bootmanager for dualboot/multiboot. Sudo apt install refind.... Awesome piece of software, lets you boot from usb or go to system setup, nice gui. I install it on every computer i get my hands on😉 Thx to Roderick Smith who made this.

Is there any need to create /home /swap partition seperately or it will be created by default ???Thanks !
After changing the boot options, how were you able to go back to the main selection page with all of the options? Did you click exit or turn off your computer and turn it on?

So grateful. Thank you.
I have a pc with Asus Z97-A motherboard, Intell i5 4690k processor, 16gb DDR3 ram, and 3 internal hard drives. My 1st hard drive, I already have Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit on it and been using it for the past few years (no, I do not want windows 10 or 11) My 2nd hard drive is for installing Linux Mint 20.3. My 3rd hard drive is a 3tb thats just for back ups. for Windows and Linux files So what are the steps for installing Linux Mint 20.3 onto my 2nd hard drive and optimizing the settings for multi-boot?

Great tutorial 👍🏻 i am very new to Linux and would like to know wich settings do you recommend to change for a new system in terms of security after installation of a fresh OS? Ufw, firetools,ClamAV or such stuff, as a noob coming from windows i feel a little naked with just the OS installed. As we all know there is no 100% bulletproof OS, what helps to keep relatively safe? Thank god my poor 3 year shoolenglish ( and thats 34 years ago) has reached a level that allows me to follow such great videos. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 like+ abo

Hi, I have a question, at 12:10 you said that i would know where my windows boot manager partition is... It does not say where it is here on my ubuntu install
Nik, this is great. I am getting stuck right after the connect to wireless network screen. The install gives me a turn off rst screen that I cannot get past.
Hi Bro can I install 3 os on a single physical machine without virtualization like different version of windows and different flavor of linux. What will be the procedure of installation which will be installed first windows or linux and will all 3-4 os require different partitions? Kindly reply how I can do it
