The foam actually has a purpose. It's to prevent your beer from getting in contact with oxygen, 'cause oxygen makes your beer extra bitter

I believe there is another reason as well, which is to not make you feel as bloated (which u get after drinking beer the brittish way), especially if you pair it with food/greasy food (bitterballen)

@@LearndutchOrg persoonlijk vind ik toch dat zo'n goud gele rakker niet z'n volledige potentie benut zonder een juiste file in vlezige vorm, oftewel een polonaise. Helaas laat dat nog even op zich wachten. Tot snel polonaise! Ik mis je als wat niet.

1. Waarschijnlijk is het Heineken en dat is geen bier maar water dus geen verspilling, ik zou mijn ochtend drollen zelfs nog liever proberen weg te willen spoelen met een krat Heineken ipv wc water.. 2. Ik ben ook barman geweest, mijn allereerste getapte biertje was niet perfect maar kwam wel heel dichtbij. Daarna werden de biertjes juist perfect getapt met flinke snelheid. Iets met "Nood aan de man" en "Oefening baart kunst." Vooral wanneer het erg druk werd, maar dat was pre-covid19 tijd. 3. In herhaling. Het was waarschijnlijk Heineken, dat is typisch "Dutch beer" volgens alle buitenlanders maar andere biertjes die in Nederland worden gebrouwd, Zoals Hertog Jan, smaken naar mijn mening velen malen beter. Dus wees een beetje lief voor deze onervaren mensen en ga met een gerust hart naar bed. No waste on this "beer".

Ten eerste zijn de glazen waarschijnlijk warm, ten tweede ze zijn niet gespoeld en ten derde ze weten niet dat je de tap helemaal open moet trekken om maar in de buurt te komen van een goed biertje.

Hoe moeilijk is het om gewoon de tap helemaal open te zetten 😅😂

In case people are wondering, you're supposed to fully open the tap so it's not just foam coming out. When you only open it a little the pressure will be too high so it will just spurt foam but when you open it fully the pressure is less so the beer will just come out.

As a dutch bartender this broke my heart i"ll give you a free tap beer lesson

Also you have to look into each others eyes while saying Proost, right? :D

Dutch "pils" goes with 2 fingers of foam. So when somebody puts up two fingers in this context it does not mean he wants to do inappropriate things to you :') Although, a few beers in you never know.

Je moet de tap helemaal open zetten anders krijg je veel te veel schuim door de druk die op de tap zit.

The foam has a couple functions. First it indicates the beer is really fresh, and not stale. In absence of foam you cannot easily judge that visually. Second it may prevent oxidation and hence keep the beer in the glass fresh. Third it exposes a glass that was not cleaned properly. If cleaned properly, each sip of fresh beer leaves a ring of foam on the glass. If the glass is not clean enough or the wrong detergent was used you'll not see those rings.

I really enjoy your videos. Makes me want to learn dutch! Wish they would speak dutch in this one. But it was still fun to watch.

I don't know what your native language is, but let's just say it's English. If you register yourself you have to say what your native language is and what language you would like to learn/improve. Two fatal mistakes. Fatal mistake 1: they didn't puul the tap open all the way. Never ease into it, just crank it. Fatal mistake 2: when you open the tap, don't catch the stream right away. There first part that will come out is foam, and if you catch that the whole drink is foam. Let it go, the stream will turn clear almost immediately after that and then you intercept, with the glass tilted as some of them did.

Tric is to wait to have them at temparture, then the first tap is fine. And well that takes about 24h. People are to impatient mostly.

The way their beer looked we call a 'glaasje melk' where i come from which means a glass of milk

Biertje tappen is blijkbaar moeilijk. Weer wat geleerd.

If you pull the tap fully open directly and have your glass in a hook of about 60° you could just slowly turn it normal whilst filling it and you get a perfect dutch beer. Do something with this tip please. To many people fuck up beers.

Misschien n hele domme vraag, maar wat u doet u precies?, leert u deze mensen de Nederlandse taal?

Beer tapping tip from a Dutchman. Open the tap *completely* at first at full blast, this will give you clear beer. Remember to tilt the glass. When you reach the top, set it straight. Close the tap when the glass is full. Also, slightly less foam is better than a glass full of foam. You're welcome.

As a dutch person... I know how to serve beer since I was 6... no joke I can bring rounds of beer with little mistakes in less than 6 minutes

Why didn't they wet the glasses first? You get better results that way.... And please don't be scared, just pull the tap all the way open, it'll produce a lot less foam that way. Tilt your glass a bit at the beginning and slowly tilt it upright (the speed of this depends on how much pressure and how fast your tap runs)... It's not that hard

Fun fact about this glass. It’s a marketing trick to sell more foam and less beer. So bar owners get more profit. As a Dutch bartender, I never drink Heineken because of this. Hertog Jan has a much better glass and the beer is much better in my opinion.

Het was niet bedoeld om de barman pijn te doen... Ik publiceer het juist nu omdat morgen de terrassen open gaan. Als je zelf geen pilsje kunt tappen, dan kun je vanaf morgen weer terecht bij de professional! De glazen waren schoon toen ik ze gaf... maar tijdens de opname had men ze al gauw 5-10 minuten in de handen voordat we aan het onderdeel tappen begonnen.

Dat schuim heeft serieus een doel: die schuimkraag is bedoelt om de zuurstof weg te houden bij je bier, omdat de zuurstof je bier extra bitter maakt

Helemaal mee eens. Heineken is in mijn ogen 1 van de slechtste bieren van Nederland. Ik noem het graag pisswater. Zelfs Kordaat van de Lidl is beter dan Heineken. Geef mij maar een Hertog Jan.
