    You’re the only video that took us through the drilling, anchors and screwing of tiling. I appreciate that. I didn’t think we needed anchors but it looks like I’m sadly WAY wrong. 😢

    Excellent. Thank you, I had wondered how one could stop the drill bit from sliding all over the ceramic tile. Very useful tip with the tap and using a ceramic drill bit to make the indent through the glazing. Anna

  • @yourbeekeeper

    @yourbeekeeper

    9 жыл бұрын

    Anna Quek HI Anna. You might try making a deeper indent in the tile glaze when you are tapping. Remember it's a light tap while your rotate the masonary bit between your fingers...it allows that carbide tip to get fresh bites in the tile. I have not had any issue with the bit wandering.

    Nicely done :) I normally use a glass drillbit for the holemaking in those kinds of tiles, regular mono/bicottura tiles and marble aswell, it's a bit easier than the masonery bit because it will not slip as much and you don't have to use the hammer for making the pilot holes. I like the masonary drillbit technique for harder types of tiles as a porcellenato.

    From experience. In a bathroom / shower environment the screws might start to corrode and expand at the plug and could crack the tile. I always drill the hole in the tile slightly larger than the hole for the plug so the front end of the plug sits against the wall not the tile. If the screw then corrodes there is room for expansion.

    William Cassedy thank you for taking the time to watch my video. You actually have a reduced risk of cracking or chipping when you drill in the center, or field, of the tile. The glazing tends to be thinnest at the edges. Good luck!
