    Hey bro super cool vid.. On my Fast and Furious Supra drift I filled the rear diff with hot glue. So many options on locking the diff. I was being cheap. You are correct makes the drift car so much better.

    Yeah. I should’ve mentioned that Shoe Goo was just one of MANY ways to lock a diff.

    great informative video , i have 20 year old tt01 that has taken a beat , it is all stock ,the only thing i have changed was the esc so that it could take lipo , it was originaly a drifter but but has spent most of his life with soft tires running around :D waiting for the second part dude

    @@10thScaleGarage yeah...it would have been a solid machine if it wasnt for the sloppy ass steering. The D5 has a slide rack style so it should perform really well. All the videos make it look good. 🤞

    I've just got back into RC cars, I bought and built a Tamiya TT02D bare chassis (drift spec with motor and bearing upgrade), then I've bought an R35 GTR shell for it. I need to get myself motivated for the paint job though, I keep putting that bit off lol

    Check out kpopRC, and Hemistorm. They make some great paint videos. Just take your time and be confident. I’ve had some really trashy paint jobs turn out ok.

    Tks for the shoo goo tip! Wanna lock up my center diff on my proline pro mt 4x4 to make it a wheelie king, other youtubers have said silicone ear plugs and I haven't been able to find any in my local shops( buy local). Got a tube of goo sitting around tho! Gonna try it tks 10th scale!

    question before i attempt does locking the rear diff really help for awd drift? (i usually use my tt01 for racing but want to try drifting with it before i get a dedicated rwd chassis due to budget constraints)

    I feel old having an hpi e10 with aluminum wheel hubs and camber arms for upgrades I'm probably the last awd drifter in my area while my local hobby shop only carries mst and yokomo rwd chassis but nice and informative video

    When you say you can remove the shoe goo did you mean the she goo or the whole diff so you can run locked or open with a swap of the diff

    Hi there by locking the rear diff with shoe goo does it affect the touring ability? As I will change out the tyres for driving around track occasionally for speed thrill.

    It will prevent the rear wheels from turning at different speeds around corners.

    I dont suppose you know if bathroom rubber sealant is the same as shoe goo? We can't get that over here. Or will I need something that sets a bit harder? Do you also have a link to them drift wheels for the Kyosho? Many thanks

    Yeah, it should work….. but it’s going to be permanent! Just be aware of that before you do it. I don’t have the link, but any 12mm touring car drift wheels will work. Just find some that look good with whatever car you have.

    I really like the looks of the Kyosho (spelling?), but if parts availability is lacking, then I might go with the Redcat. Really am tempted to get into RC drifting!

    Can’t really drive the 1000 dollar rwd in the street in front of my house (display queen). my 4wd red cat lightning (easier to work on shaft driven version) has seen many hours of drift bashing and parts are dirt cheap even aluminum, I recommend plastic suspension parts for lending and bashing it- they flex more!!!

    can't you remove the drive shaft that goes to the front axle, to make a RWD out of the Fazer Mk2?

    Yes, but there’s no benefit in doing that, since you have super limited steering angle. The car is less capable without the drive shaft, but it does make for a crazy driving experience. If you’re interested in RWD drifting, you really need a RWD chassis. You will almost certainly have a bad experience trying to convert it by removing the driveshaft.

    Kyosho all the way. My uncle's got the 1/8th scale Inferno GT with Nosram 28 nitro motor. That thing does 4 wheel drifting on tar with it's sticky tyres no problem. Drivetrain still stock with open diffs...10 years on and still need to break something on it.

    Waiting on a Lipo Compatible Speed Control for my Granite. The Brushed one is Still Brand New but is not Lipo Ready and all my Nihms are Shot. Plus I need to use my Lipos because they were charged for use in a New Pirates2 from Banggood but it Stripped the Screws from the Dive Cups and lost the Spacers on the vary first Battery only going 10-15mph when it hit the left front tire on a tree. (it's a know weak spot on them). So Now I need New Screws, Spacers and Drive Cups.. They Have the Screws and Drive Cups but No Spacers.. Need to Mod something to work. It's a Tough Truck but has that 1 weak point. Now playing the Waiting Game with Banggood. Was still able to do Wheelies on a Single 2s and hit speeds of 25mph with a Speed Control ratted at for 4s.

    @@10thScaleGarage The Stock one Yes... But that was replaced because it Burnt Out and so did it's Stock Warranty Replacement. I stuck a Dynamite 12t Speed Control in it and it's Old enough not to be Lipo Ready but is Still Brand New as in Never got to use it.

    My drift middle is an hpi nitro and rs4 3 with a single speed and negitave camber. Have it set up where I can easily change it back to grip settings in under 5 mins

    Very cool man. Great video. Gives those of us, who are starting in this part of the hobby a great place to start. Of course I went and ordered the 2WD kit from Amain Hobbies MST FXX 2.0 with BMW Body. Looks like I will be learning the hard way. lol I like starting something like this with a KIT. Gives me a great feel for how it all goes together and gives me a REAL GOOD feel on how it all works. Did the same thing with my TRAIL TRUCKS. This will be as different for me as it gets. Trailing to Drifting ..lol But with a channel like this to help? It going to be fun.. Thumbs up and SUBBED
