All right, this is going to be a bit long, so please bear with me: First, your English is just fine, no need to apologize for it. Second, that is one amazingly beautiful drawing, and like you, I prefer to suggest, not get into details, on my larger drawings. I love tiny details when I'm making greeting cards, but not in landscapes or seascapes. Third, I have a marvelous little Tombow eraser, but had never thought to use it as you used the tiny one here. I'm going to put mine to use that same way. Even though I've only tonight discovered your channel, you have another subscriber as of right now. I like your teaching method, and I can see that I can learn a great deal from you.

This was really insightful. Thank you! Also, when speaking a language it's more important to be confident and be able to express your thoughts rather than to pay a lot of attention to negligible details of the rules of the language. And you expressed yourself really well. I actually found it quite charming how you spoke

Beginner don't have to spend much money, even for top level materials. That's the beauty of graphite. I just bought a twelve pencil set of FRaber-Castell 9000 pencils, AND a twelve set of Staedtler Mars Lumograph pencils, and the combined cost was under twenty US dollars. Better, well-meaning friends and family have given me five different brands of cheap Chinese art pencils, and all of them are perfectly good for any kind of graphite art. In fact, I know several pro artists who actually PREFER Chinese pencils. I can't say I prefer them, but I can say I find absolutely no disadvantage when using them. The only reason I bought the Straedtler and Faber-Castel pencils is because I had testing going on for reviews, and needed these to complete it. My standard use brand is General's, primarily out of habit, but I intend to use my Chinese pencils before buying more of anything else, even for serious drawings. As for paper, yes, I buy the expensive stuff, Strathmore or Canon Bristol, whether smooth or vellum, and Bristol Board, depending on the drawing. My favorite sketching and practice drawing paper is Walmart Pen Gear. A 9x12 120 sheet sketchpad with 100gsm acid free paper is under five dollars, and our artist friends couldn't tell it from 100gsm Strathmore. Several liked it better. I also love sketching and drawing on HP twenty-eight or thirty-two pound Premium Printer Paper. These are both think, very, very smooth paper that are roughly 120 and 140gsm. Our artist friends absolutely loved this paper when they thought it was a new brand of loose leaf art paper soon to be released. The only place I think a beginner must spend full price is with the Tombow Mono Zero eraser. I also recommend a good kneaded eraser, a Pentel Hi-Polymer eraser, both of which are very cheap, and it's worth trying Blu Tack, or some other brand of the putty you use to stick posters and other things to the wall. There are many brands, but Blu Tack was, I believe, the original, and it's all I've ever used, and what many, many graphite artists I know use. Essentially, this stuff is like a kneaded eraser on steroids, and can take even stubborn graphite all the way back to white paper, which makes it excellent for picking out highlights. I hasn't fully rep[laced my standard kneaded eraser, but I use it twice as often.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. In just one video you have not only taught me how to draw but to have the confidence to go forward with what I really want to be which is a sketch artist; not a painter but a sketcher. That is my artistic goal: to be able to draw anything, and now I know that I can do that. My problem in the past was that I was trying to draw in ink and it just never worked for me. It was the totally wrong medium. I realize now that the pencil is not boring rather it is creative and flexible unlike a ridgid pen. You express yourself so well in your drawing, your words of instruction and your tone of voice. Again, thank you ever so much. I have subscribed to your channel and will work my way through all your existing videos. God bless you for sharing your talent.

Beautifully done and taught. I understood your English wonderfully. I'm going to attempt this with my daughter soon. She has an assignment due next week that needs mountains and water. But first im going to head to Hobby Lobby for some graphite pencils...thank goodness they're 50% off this week! And thank you (all the way from Arizona) for this beautiful tutorial!

Your English is understandable and you shouldn't apologize for it. Your tutorial helped me a lot and I'll happily watch more of them. Thank you.

Your English is fine. Good as most of us here in the States. Besides, you speak eloquent art which most of us don't. Love your suggestion of not pressing hard but building the material. It explains why I always have trouble erasing. Also, I love the idea of using an eraser and then adding a line in front of a wave. Also, love the way you made clear the ideas behind detail and suggestion drawing. Also, I just bought a rectangle and circle Tombow eraser. Can't wait to get them. Just a great video. Thanks.

I'm highly new to drawing but I decided to give myself a challenge but I only have a mechanical pencil and eraser but I recreated the drawing the best I could and I got to say your art skills are amazing.

The best thing about art is that you don’t have to fully know someone’s speaking language to be a great teacher. Amazing job. Thanks for helping me brush up on the basics. I haven’t drawn probably since you lived in the USA lol
