This is what I would call an HD quality sketch🕐😁👌👌

What would be really helpful is a more detailed look at a much smaller section on your actual technique and pencil movement in translating such a dense/detailed texture to the page. I have always tended to draw the hairs but it looks as if you create a lot by drawing 'around them' to leave the page showing through....incredibly by the way!!

You're insane on detail XD And I thought I did great with five hours non-stop work on my camera screen on my 3DS because instead of taking pics, I made random drawings on there XD LOL great work man!

Hi Dan. I'm new to your vlog but I think your art is amazing. My personal specialty is portraits with pencil, I am very meticulous and a perfectionist so I understand that you must have patience for your style. I always go into more detail than most people but not to the extent you do. I am learning alot from your vlog and appreciate you making them. But I wonder, how would you draw a portrait with a full on beard?

My advice is to use the grid method for portraits. I'm a graphite portrait artist myself, and this could help since you are drawing each square of the facial hair.

If you watch his materials video, he will show all the pencils and erasers and stuff he uses to create his are. He said he often uses Derwent and Faber Castell pencils. But any grade styles set of pencils will do :)

Faber Castell are his best recommendation. Also he said that Derwent ones are great as well, and a mechanical pencil :)

Same. I am pretty patient since I spent about 7 hours on a drawing, and I thought I was good until he said he drew a lion in 154 hours! He is so amazing and patient! I wanna meet him.....

Yes he dies. He says that he draws what he sees in the photo, and spends a lot of time to get each hair in place :)

He said Faber Castell pencils, and Derwent pencils. But you can find cheap ones on eBay as well but those two are pretty cheap :)
