That is an extraordinary find. However can you draw and animate in the style that it teaches?
@VincitDesignCo
3 жыл бұрын
@@showman139 Hey there! Yes it was quite a great find. I am not much into the animation side of things, but if you pause and screenshot some of the video, you can see that there is a progression to how the drawings are made, and you can start with simple round/organic shapes to make certain parts of your character, then connect those shapes and fill them out!

This is actually a revised edition since the original print used model sheets from MGM cartoons of the time (Tom and Jerry, Tex Avery, etc), but once Blair got found out, he got hit with a cease and desist until he decided to trace and replace the likeness of the characters with new, non distinct ones

There are a ton of similarities, and a lot of the animators I believe worked at multiple studios.
For meaning to have viewers stop the video and take screen shots there sure wasn't a lot of opportunities without your left hand in the way and/or your right casting a shadow. The later pages shown weren't even all the way in frame. Good first effort i suppose, but i'm still going to have to get a real copy of the book to actually see it. I don't like the "fancy programs"....

Why do you need gloves?
@VincitDesignCo
3 жыл бұрын
Great question! You certainly don't have to use gloves, but I want to preserve the pages for as long as possible, and since these pages are very old and brittle, the oils on your fingers can damage the paper further and make them wither faster, so a pair of cotton serving gloves will make sure no oil get's on the paper!
