It’s not really “rough lines” that are bad. It’s when your making a big line but make it out of many small lines (chicken scratching) it gives a strange and rough texture to your lines in a bad way that isnt just sketchy/loose

@@Mizusrevenge they didn’t explain why the circle was there, it didn’t have a hairline (and the circle was there to see where the hair grows out. But the circle isn’t the best for that. A dot or a line is preferable) they also didn’t say the hair Come out of here and all. They said make longer n all this doesn’t go for every style of hair! That was all! (They also didn’t show that the hair would be pulled back w the buns [ the showed it but didn’t explain it)

Thank you for spreading the good word of how hair works! Hair is not just a spike-y blob but many lines that clump together and emerge from points or lines on the head (depending on the style)

There are some inaccurate stuff they did on this one, but I guess it does depend on the style lol, but if someone wants to learn how to draw hair anatomically correct then this isn't the best tutorial for them

Oof- you should try drawing the head first and then draw the other head parts (eyes, nose, hair, etc., you should draw some guidelines too) You also need to figure out where the hairline is before drawing the hair

I think the best takeaway in this vid is the circle thing. It's a technique I picked up from another book years ago and it does come in handy. As long as you use the circle as a reference point from where to start your hair from, you can apply it to any hairstyle you wanna draw.

well you can find other tutorials that are a bit better than just a youtube short. this girl makes tutorials on how she draws one portrait. so this isn’t really for beginners, this is for people that like her art style and that hairstyle
