I have been learning that when I watch you videos I need to not draw while you draw and just listen and watch first rather than immediately doing everything you do. AH! Patience Nina hahaha. Your voice is also very calming!

Dear art of Wei, I really love your drawings! I was wondering if you could do a few drawing requests for me. Would you shade lighter if there is a colour change? Sometimes with an apple you have some yellow patches, which to me seems like it's of a lighter value. I usually have a hard time doing value shading when the object has multiple colours, any ideas how I can simplify the process?

Yes, of course. Shade according to what you see. Shade it in passes. Start with the lighter values, then do dark and darker. That's the best way if you are having trouble with shading.

I have thought about doing that, suppose it would be easy to do on a computer. I guess I could always take a photo of a live object and apply a greyscale filter

It's okay if your black and white is not accurate to the colors. As long as there's contrast, it'll look good. Red is almost black without any color. But yeah, you can also work from greyscale references.

No, of course not. It just means your drawing won't be as dark. Has very little impact of it being a bad drawing.

Art of Wei hi wei is hb,2b,4b,6b the only grade pencils you use do u buy them by the box full or the tins that have really hard pencils in i find 8b just gos to mud cheers
